The title pretty much contradicts the conclusion the way a reasonable person would read it. In many cases, when a sick worker is sent home, they are not replaced by a healthy worker, so the title is very misleading.

I think non-experts reliably have no ability to judge a situation. Most people don’t know anything about what wildlife actually do and their behaviors and will anthropomorphize. Case in point: an abandoned human child left alone on the beach SHOULD be rescued.

Think of it this way: Leave it on the beach and it’s probably ok because you don’t know what a dying or abandoned seal looks like. Take it home and YOU kill it.
