And why I should give a flying fuck about what Bryan Fisher says? Child abuse? That says a lot about Fisher and his fellow homophobes than anything else. Why would you want to dignify these assholes by giving them any attention at all?

Fair enough. But Bert & Ernie are in shadows, and it doesn't show their faces. It's pretty subtle; it's not throwing it in anyone's faces.
Yes, because all the "morans" who oppose marriage equality read the New Yorker religiously.
Whenever someone tells you there isn't a dime's worth of difference between the two major parties and it doesn't matter who you vote for, THIS is why they're wrong.
Just different perceptions which make it interesting. :-)
I know Smith didn't have much experience in the theater, if any. The others were hardly singers, per se. But they were experienced actors and were able to perform Sondheim. An actor doesn't have to be musically theater inclined as long as they are willing to take the risks for Sondheim. (And Jack Klugman in GYPSY was…
Could Lee Remick or Harry Guardino? Could Alexis Smith or Glynis Johns? Sondheim pretty much Angela Lansbury into a musical singer with "Anyone Can Whistle" but part of Sondheim's genius is that he doesn't necessarily write for "singers." Except for "Sweeney Todd" (which has now become part of the operatic repertory)…
And I love your name.
I don't use Siri often but when I do I always thank her when she gives me a result. Even if she couldn't complete it I swear I say "That's ok, thanks anyway." I certainly don't do this with other automated voicesbut Siri sounds so human. And this is really how Skynet will be born.
She's nothing. If she has any power it's with the people who are sympathizing with her and all this is going to do is further polarize people. It's easy to throw words like "racist" around which tends to shut down the conversation. I'm Jewish and a Zionist and I know how counter-productive it is when Jews throw out…
Position of power? What power? She has a freaking FOOD NETWORK show. But it's a lot easier to get a silly older woman fired and to vent outrage on FB, Twitter and web sites than it is to really go out there and hold people in real positions of power (the majority of the Republican members of Congress seem to do pretty…
That picture is the one I have in my head. And that's why I didn't recognize him the first time I saw the show.
Exactly. Morse shot to fame as the lead in "How to Succeed..." so casting him as Bert Cooper was so right. And he did a TV show in the late 60's/early '70's called "That's Life" that was a mini-musical every week. It didn't last long but I have fond memories of it.
Same thing. After the credits rolled in the first episode he appeared in, I had to go back and watch it again. THAT was Harry Hamlin? MIND BLOWN, definitely.
Anybody else out there as flabbergasted by Harry Hamlin as I am? Never thought he was more than a pretty face but he is showing serious acting chops.
Casting Robert Morse as Bert Cooper was sheer genius.
My very favorite opera singer on the occasion of Princess Victoria's and Daniel Westling's wedding.
Nice to know that Callis is a nice guy because he is one of the most god-awful actors ever to have a pivotal role in a series.
I missed the Kreacher subplot most of all. It was such a wonderful transformation.
Thanks! (And he knows it!)
