I AM SO DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH SERENA RN

I know I’m biased* since I actually like Taylor despite her being #problematic, but this. Regardless of how juvenile or silly people think her lyrics are, she’s been recognized by American songwriters for her entire career. Obviously since she’s at the peak of her career it was a good time to award her something but

That was my thought, too. I imagine him taking an inactive physical roll in these alleged trysts. ::shudder::

I don’t want to live in a world without PubLIZity. (It’s based off our names!*Slurp*)

Or seen the movie Obvious Child. Soooooooooooooo good. I fell in love with her there, and Parks and Rec sealed the deal.

obvious child is a brilliant movie

I’m amazed that Ozzy Osbourne is still breathing on his own, how the hell is he cheating on Sharuunnnn with ‘several’ women?!

every lifetime achievement award is made up

I think that captures why I struggled to connect with Beyoncé’s music pre-Lemonade. Always appreciated her talent but didn’t feel that connection because she didn’t feel “real.” I watched Lsmonade and now I'm a total convert. I believed every lyric, whether she wrote it or not.

Olivia Newton-John

Maaaan I am NOT a Taylor Swift fan but I’m sadly going to defend her here. I certainly think Alicia is a more talented instrumentalist, but Swift has pretty solid chops. And on the flip side I don’t think there was that much of a gulf between their commercial success until recently. All of Alicia’s projects have gone

Wait, there are awards that aren’t made up? I always thought awards were transcendent objects that existed before time.

She has amazing skills, but either lacks the lived experience or can’t bring life into her songs :-( I really want to love her work but cannot connect with the music.

Except that she goes to this award ceremony all the time and she was getting a whole host of other awards that night anyway (to add to her already extensive collection from this one group). They didn’t need to make up an award for her to come. Plus, this isn’t the kinda awards ceremony that cares about publicity since

Violently assaulting other people should not be allowed for and excusable as normal teenage behavior. Because then we allow that the killing of teenagers is an acceptable result of normal teenage behaviors.

Seriously, these comments drive me nuts, and I’ve been seeing them on several recent news articles involving teens doing truly awful things. Killing a person while you beat her is not teenager behavior. Teenager behavior is grabbing a pack of beer and running out of the store. I mean, you’d think that killing would

I didn’t act like this teenager when I was a teenager.

Um what? Hitting another person repeatedly in the head is not a ‘teenager acting like a teenager.’

I think she should be charged, but not as an adult. We have two systems for a reason and while her actions are objectionable/wrong/terrible, upping her up to an adult would just be responding to outrage and ignoring the reasoning behind trying juveniles as juveniles.

I’m not pro-fighting but I acknowledge that kids do fight and always have. The victim’s death is a horrible tragedy, but also an accident. A preventable accident for sure—which makes it worse—but still an accident.
