I anticipate a lot of reviews saying things like, “No, it’s not Wind Waker, but it’s still pretty decent!” and then I’ll play it and be like, “Yeah, this is a really shitty version of Wind Waker. Why am I not playing an actual Zelda game?”

I know this doesn't earn me cool points, but I don't particularly care for Beyonce (she's totally fine, but not my cup of tea). I'm honestly not into most mainstream pop music.
Ok, that's true.
Yeah, I wouldn't be opposed to it, but I hadn't considered it at all before reading your comment. If that's the case, it'll be interesting to see how the show incorporates a "straight" character into all the absurdity. Even Mikey had his ridiculous moments.
Rime looks pretty great, but I’m going to wait until I hear some substantial reviews on it. I was pretty burned by Oceanhorn, which was also described as being similar to Wind Waker, but that had more to do with the shitty port that still felt like a mobile game on Xbox.
Huh, I didn't pick up on him as a potential love interest (only saw 2 episodes), so if they go that route, I'm not sure the chemistry is there. Daveed Diggs is charming, though, so I'll be happy if he gets to stay around.
I couldn't believe how great Carol Kane was in those videos! She's got some great moves.
;)
It also has one of my favorite themes! Side note (and yes, I am going to give a spoiler about the BOTW soundtrack): like most songs, the instrumentation grows more complex as you progress with the quest. It's really neat! https://www.youtube.com/wat…
Maybe we'll finally get more Shooter Tutor articles!
I cheesed the hell out of it. I ended up laying about a dozen trip wires.
Yeah, I was honestly surprised he had been making videos for years because he sounded so uncomfortable in that Andromeda video. Like I said, he knows his stuff, but a little production value goes a long way.
To be fair, the definition of "RPG" is pretty nebulous, but I think it checks the right boxes. First of all, there's a strong focus on the story. The side quests often amount to, "go kill some stuff", but the writing twists and turns in interesting ways. There's also a dialogue system, great characters, a skill tree,…
Thumper looks nuts, but there's no way I could play without my stomach doing flips. Even videos are a little much for me. You're made of strong stuff, I tell ya.
I know I just said that I like Horizon more than Witcher, but it's weirdly wetting my appetite to go back. I never actually played the DLC despite paying for it (!), and I feel like I might be able to enjoy it again. Witcher's great, but it's one of the few games that feels too long to me (reminder: I've put hundreds…
Yes! I liked it, but I still haven't finished it . The guy's smart, but the production value leaves a little to be desired. He mainly needs to edit out "ums" and coughs.
Hah, I was about to say, "That's the guy from Retronauts, right?" and then I saw it was the Retronauts channel. Thanks!
THANK YOU! Splitscreen is the only gaming podcast I could get into, so I appreciate all the suggestions!
Honestly, Andromeda affected me the way the Star Wars prequels affected a lot of people. I'm not going to argue with anyone who's enjoying it (I wish I could join!), but I still feel like I'm trying to unpack what went wrong with that game and why I disliked it so much. So many elements got close to what I wanted, but…
Speaking of disorienting, the sections where you fly on the rails almost made me quit the game. I couldn't figure out where the hell I had to go, and they were nausea inducing. Yuck.
