Is it really re-victimizing someone? If you are abused, obviously you are a victim, but if it is proven you are unable to protect your children/continuing to put them in dangerous situations, you shouldn't have your kids anymore. Someone who can protect them should have them.

Omg I knew before even scrolling down into the comments there would be people defending latte lady. I KNEW IT.

Ya know, I sort of wish they'd stuck to their guns on the filing so the court would have no choice buy to rule in a well publicized case that trans people ARE protected. I mean, I know there's already precedent for that, but it'd be nice to see it very publicly reinforced.

Note how she didn't say "Islamism" or "the Jihad" or even "radical nut jobs who masquerade as religious crusaders when they are actually just rotten pieces of shit." No, she said "Islam." As in, any Muslim period is a threat to America.

Given the allegations in the lawsuit, the headline is exactly what the word "condone" means, hence the word "allegedly." If you're going to throw out definitions as some kind of argument, you should probably a) know what they mean, and b) know what the rest of the words in the headline mean, too.

If a person does not consent to a sex act, it is rape.

You know what pisses me off? That for oblivious white dudes like Graham, rape is a "definitional" or "intellectual" issue because they can never ever comprehend the fact that for women, rape is a visceral embodied issue and almost every day of our lives, we have to compute a million different ways to protect

Dear Republican Women:

For every asshole apologist in this thread trying to justify why bringing your own goddamned food to a goddamned restaurant is ok, I feel the need to share my own personal slice of why that is is literally the Worst Idea Ever.

I don't think that couple were Autistic.

"Sorry they're only admitting family"

Especially because if you're polite, restaurants bend over backwards to help with allergies. My dad is allergic to onions. We've never once had a problem, even though onions are in virtually everything.

I'm absolutely confused by the "eat their own food" people. Why would you think that bringing your own food to a place that serves food be cool? If you want to eat your own food somewhere nice, have a picnic in the park. I think its much worse having people eat their own food in a restaurant then not permitting them

This just in: Supreme Court Justices have opinions.

My husband and I were at a restaurant with a large menu when a normal 30 something couple comes in. They both sit on the same side of the booth and the woman starts reading the menu to her male companion. She reads the title, description then price for all of the appetizers. I assumed he was blind, couldn't read,

Isn't something that primarily revolves around women's experiences doing that by default though, if the line is being drawn at not having a vagina? I mean, we can say "it's just talking about vaginas" but the stories involved clearly go a hell of a lot deeper than simply possessing a vagina. Besides, the conflation of

Ugh, the comments on the linked article...

It sounds to me like they're replacing it with something else that's student-written and along the same lines. Schools aren't required to perform the same thing each year, and change can be good.

The play can only be performed exactly as is, with zero alterations, and no monologues may be added or removed — it's stipulated right up front in the script.

as someone who was arrested and plead guilty for stealing tampons and a bra from target as a homeless 18 year old I say fuck yes to this being a thing.
