Is it possible to copy that Gold Master? My suspicion is that he copied it before he sent it back to Blizzard, as insurance. In case one day he felt like releasing it. Blizzard thanked him in a very mild way, and then started thinking about this. They realized that he might have done this too, and they’d have no way

As someone who values preservation of pre-production material and project files, it would’ve been nice if Blizzard took the disc back, checked the contents, then said “Hey, you guys wanna take a look at the inner workings this nineteen year old game engine?”

Who said he didn’t make a few copiesIHaveWatchedAFew90sMovies

I’d be curious to skim through it. I’ve never seen a project that big and would be curious how they architected it.

...Sure would be real nice to have that source code, though.

It’s not that this is some “website that looks like google” and is “duplicating the google sign-in page”. It’s an actual Google Doc app, that you have to give permission to access your account details. That’s what makes it so dangerous, that it’s acting as a normal app would, requiring normal google authentication and

I would suggest that ‘stayed on a friend’s floor’ is probably more of an expression to make Brad sound more normal and average than it literal. I feel like David Fincher has a spare bedroom or two.

his mom wouldn’t let him watch those movies

I would have liked to see them pull a Last Action Hero and show a bunch of movie posters in Starlord’s bedroom where Kurt Russell was replaced by someone else.

Maybe I’m dumb, but I’m in agreement. I feel like that would’ve killed in the theater.

I don’t think it’s a very bad idea.

Did you watch the clip? David is clearly proficient at flying the ship. If he was able to fly to The Engineers homeworld why wouldn’t he be able to fly to Earth?

Leaving aside for a moment all the supplementary materials which outright state that the ships are FTL, there’s plenty of evidence in the films themselves without mentioning it.

Yeah, David has the same motivations that Weyland has, but Weyland was fixated on human perfection, David doesn’t have the same preferences toward humanity. To David, one species is no better than another, the only preference being viability, he see’s his new species as more viable, and thus, a more perfect species

I would have to rewatch, but did Shaw ever learn that David was responsible for all that? From her perspective it would be far more logical to assume Weyland was responsible.

Yes! Basically David is unleashing eldritch horrors upon the universe, taking a picture, and then saying “Neat!”

Agreed. Or how about the fact that she still wants to visit the same planet where an entire species will give no f***s about her or her big questions?

I’m glad to see they’re continuing the “Scientists are done” motif from Prometheus. “Here’s a homocidal android that tested a genetic weapon on the crew and personally attacked me. He’s a harmless head now. I should rebuild his body and then trust him to watch over me while I enter chryosleep.
