I agree. It pushes this personal responsibility narrative where it’s harmful to do so (addicts and so on) but, conversely, doesn’t push it where it makes the most sense. Sometimes you do just have to suck it up and deal, and indulging in this kind of “me and my problems" ego trip isn't helpful.
