It would make me happy if he didn’t dump his girlfriends as soon as they turn 25.
I love that Yaz’s work keeps informing some of the ways she acts on her travels (subduing the perp in the Kerblam! episode and having had training in dealing with distressed and vulnerable people).
More likely they have some boneheaded ideas about vaccines. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they’re afraid of vaccines but won’t say it when cameras are present because manager Kris knows it would hurt their brand
“...would never disrespect Offset by trying to hit on his wife.”
Truth. I think that some police forces can have generally good cultures or generally bad cultures, but a “good cop” (plus the entire justice system) will defend, lie, and cover for a really bad copy every.single.time. That makes the “good cop” no better than the worst cop on the force.
Because she did something good and then immediately died. The problem seems to be that there are too many ways to lose points. Mindy got enough points from her one great action to push her over the threshold, and didn’t have a chance to lose points after that.
I’d’ve been fine with the frog if it wasn’t such a bad puppet. It totally killed the emotion for me because all I was thinking about was how awkwardly the puppet was moving. If you’re going to go Legends-of-Tomorrow-Why-The-Fuck-Not levels of cray, at least make it look good. If I can buy giant Beebo, our lord and…
I’ve loved the new elements of Whittaker’s Doctor - her empathy, her respect for the companions, her slight daffiness - but this episode was the first to show off that awe and joy in discovering something new that was such a great feature of Nine and Ten. Her instant admiration of the Solitrac just felt so right.
Funny, this reminds of an episode of Enterprise. Where the telepath contacts Hoshi coming across as someone beautiful. But was rather inhuman looking an trying to get people to accept him since he was a pariah in his society for being a telepath.
Best episode yet. I just wish it had come a little earlier in the season. This felt like a proper Who story. I also like the inclusion of Ribbons. If the main antagonist is often going to turn out to be “misunderstood”, like the Solitract, then we need to have an irredeemably evil character get their comeuppance every…
Best episode of the season so far for me. Sure the Anti-Zone could have been done away with but other than that it was a good story with an excellent performance from all involved, Bradley Walsh and Jodie especially.
1) I loved the frog.
Narratively I think it was important to have Hanne and Erik in the episode, as they provided a contrast to Ryan and Graham’s relationship and means of coping with grief. After his wife died Erik disappeared into his grief and abandoned his daughter - the Solitract tempted Graham to vanish under the weight of his…
If an episode of “Doctor Who” gives me enough good moments and the episode holds together without any jarring tonal mistakes, I will be delighted with the episode. I was delighted with this one.
After watching the episode a second time, I have to say I was a little bit hasty. I really enjoyed it a lot more this time, probably because I knew what to expect. I also appreciated the material all the companions got. Bradley Walsh’s performance is wonderfully understated. And I missed the ‘reverse the polarity’…
I think Erik snapped. I think he's still not together by the end of the episode, but he's better. The episode showed his daughter doing what's necessary to get him back. As in they both grew.
The majority of the monsters this season seem to be not so much evil as misunderstood. Once they are shown for what they are they become far less scary. And sometimes what we think is the monster isn’t the real monster at all. Just an observation.
It felt like there was a little to much going in tonight’s episode but I liked most of it. The stuff with Graham & Grace and then later with Ryan finally calling Graham Grandad was very nice, as was the final scene with the Frog Universe. But boy was Erik a shitty goddamned father, leaving your child scared and alone…
