We were seperated by gender to avoid awkwardness, but we still watched both videos and had the same discussions. As a result, I knew more about my first boyfriend's body than he did, which was a bit awkward...
They separated us for the period talk in 5th grade. The girls got information and a pamphlet while the boys went outside and played football. They didn't separate us for general sex ed the next year.

The biggest lie I learned in sex ed is that gender segregation is necessary to teach sex ed.
