Somebody posted a fucking screenshot of that in a random FB thread last Thursday. Yes, we could see it coming, but I really wished I could have experienced that recoiling moment without knowing it was coming, as much as it would've sucked. I was still on the verge of tears and I knew it was coming.

Oh, shit, that would be awesome. I've seen a few people here spitballing about something in the vein of Obi-Wan's noir turn from Clones, which was one of the only redeeming qualities of that movie. I'd love to see Obi-Wan doing detective shit, trying to track down some mysteries of the Sith or something.

I've used that a couple times, but I also have several friends in the Teach For America establishment so things get confusing pretty fast.

That was my impression, too, I just was interested in his backstory. Apparently it might be addressed somewhere in the NuEU, according to some other commenters.

I'm pretty sure I heard Finn say, "Yippee!" while in the turret of the [REDACTED].

For now, let's all just imagine Ewan McGregor's sinewy arms cradling a lovestruck JJ Abrams.

Get out! Get out while you still can!

And there's one where Rey hears, "So love has blinded you?" when she and Ren are mind-battling.

So, Ewan McGregor is basically a British Country Mac, and JJ has a man-crush on him?

It's one of my favorite movies, as well. I saw it pretty shortly after I got out of the Army and mentioned to my girlfriend at the time that it had one of the best urban combat scenes I'd ever watched. Really, really, well done.

Not much pop culture this weekend besides The Force Awakens on Saturday; hadn't planned on seeing it so close to the release, but my plans changed after seeing a fucking SCREENSHOT of a major spoiler on a random FB thread. So I figured I needed to get out and see it before some asshole spoiled more of it for me.

Huh, okay. I remember something about him being an old friend of Leia's, so I kind of assumed he was a throwback character.

Adam Driver is a former Marine — I wonder if he had any input on her as a company-grade officer. Her dickishness really reminded me of the overly-motivated, decor-obsessed careerists.

Speaking of which, do we know who he was? General Rieekan or Madine?

Exactly what I was thinking. I have a 9-month-old daughter, and I can't wait for her to be able to play Star Wars as Rey in the backyard.

That's also what brought it down to an A- for me. My brother and talked about that after we saw it — both Finn and Rey fought remarkably well, untrained, with the lightsaber, and Rey was using the Force like a young adept. The Star Wars pedant in me just could not abide that.

I thought it was really cute when my daughter was strong enough to sit on my shoulders. Then she puked on my head.

As a 30+ year Seahawks fan, let me remind everyone that they are more than willing to crawl into a warm dumpster fire

Sorry to hear that. My daughter slept the night at two months, but then regressed. She's been getting up every 2-4 hours every night for the last couple of months.

My daughter's almost 9 months and not quite mobile yet, though she does this butt scoot when she wants to get someplace nearby. We're terrified and totally unprepared for the moment when she discovers her ability to place herself in imminent danger.
