I agree- for first time homebuyers, having a trustworthy agent is crucial. Good agents will always have a place. I will probably always go through my agent- cloyingly, she understands that she’s not just found a few houses for me, but homes.

The other side of this is that real estate agents are lubricious scum- and that online tools to facilitate all steps of a sale are an autoimmune response to paying $20,000+ just for someone to set up a few showings and eDocuments for you.

As much as I agree with the whole sentiment that this is the time to battle it all out, one big lesson from 2016 is that the collateral damage from that battle doesn’t go away after the Primary. Not when that “war of ideas” as you say it is being directly waged over a platform of record, like facebook, twitter, etc.
