Having gone through a Wicca phase for a number of years as a teen/young adult, and now seeing this, the secondhand embarrassment is strong. Don’t get me wrong, I have no beef with pagans, I’d rather them than Bible thumpers any day (and at least they tend to care strongly about the environment, can’t fault them for

No alternative will do. After all...

I mean, that describes duct tape, no?

Right? A single fucky router bringing down some of the most popular services on the internet... that shouldn’t be a thing anymore. Large swathes of the internet are still held together by duct tape and fervent wishes.

I still maintain that Crystal Pepsi is the superior Pepsi. The tiny change in flavor was perfect. (and I tried it again when it came back for a bit a couple years ago, so no skewed childhood memories here)

I am completely, unironically into this.

I seriously clicked on this to see if they’d manage to pull off Nevermind.

It’s really starting to look like President Pisstape is trying to fit a second four years of shittiness into the next few months since his precious second term is starting to look less and less likely (still too likely for my tastes, though, let’s not repeat 2016's mistake). It’s just been rapidfire dumbassery lately,

If it’s as batshit insane (some pun intended) as Gotham, sign me up. If it takes itself too seriously and is a stonefaced procedural... not so interested.

Same! And maybe one of the best names I’ve ever heard. Next time I play a game where I can name my character, you know I’m going with Furious Styles.

Also, any suggestions for more similar films? There’s a lot I’ve seen, but plenty I haven’t. Specifically, I’m looking for 1990 through early oughts hood films that are widely considered must sees. My current to-watch list covers Menace II Society, New Jack City, and... err... Fear Of A Black Hat (hey, I didn’t say

I totally forgot that Miss Anthropocene came out. I really need to listen to that. After all the eye-rolling at the Musk/Grimes stuff this year, I sometimes forget that I really fucking love her music.

I was really feeling a hankering for some good “hood crime drama” films lately, and I realized that I somehow had never actually seen Boyz N The Hood or Juice. So I knocked those out over the weekend.

That is the best one of these I’ve ever read. Well done! A YUUUUGE success!

I like Disney World quite a lot, but that’s the last damn place I’d want to go this year. Even if they do such a mindblowingly good job that somehow not a single guest or employee gets infected, the experience would be so compromised that I don’t see the point anyway.

With all acknowledgement that comedy is subjective, anyone who can read the “100 Yard Mosey” Far Side and not find it funny should have their chuckle card revoked.

Having stayed in RTFs as a teen (admittedly quite a while ago, but not THAT far back... we’re talking early oughts), I’m not surprised. Restraint tactics varied from safely holding the arms back while giving the kid full room to breathe and stand/sit, all the way to slamming the kid around and dogpiling on their body.

“Know what? Let’s just throw a G in the name. Lady Ga.”
“Lady what?”
“Ga. GA!”
“Gaga? Brilliant! I always did like Queen!”
Sure! Let’s go with that, I guess.”

I love horror and am doing pretty okay with the pandemic, but given my anxiety, depression and fear of change, I feel about as well-equipped to deal with negative emotions as a chihuahua on speed. I think it’s more just being emotionally drained, at least for me. Like “Global pandemic? Alright, add it to the list.
