Good catch! Mudgett is buried one county over from me (Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA). I think the grave is unmarked, but it's on the cemetery map, for anyone who is in Philly and likes macabre tourism. ;-)

The British crime series Whitechapel also referenced Holmes in one of its plots.

In the case of the woman, the description for the audition would almost certainly say something like "seeking a plus-sized woman, age 25-35" or "seeking a Melissa McCarthy type." As someone who has done quite a bit of theater work (and who has friends who do commercials, TV, and film projects), I've seen stuff like

Same gripe, Billkwando.

And can we talk about Renard's rings?
1. It's his ROYAL ring. That's a big deal. He would easily give up just about anything he owns before that because it's more important to him, more tied to his identity and self-worth, than anything. His ambition and quest for power have been his driving forces through almost all

"Renard has somehow moved overnight from the Black Claw mansion to a ridiculously posh house overlooking the city, which a police captain’s salary—or even a mayor’s salary—wouldn’t come close to covering and which is already completely furnished."

Oh, I loved that line! It's a great approach to build some intimacy with a precocious child. Because it IS fun for her, and it's smart that he recognizes that. However, I hope she is also going to be taught some control before she wipes out the whole city.

And he has always been a master at deadpan readings and sarcasm, both of which I find hilarious.

I have always thought it was a piece of The True Cross. Hopefully we'll find out.

I thought he was still the Mayor Elect? Did I totally blank on him getting sworn in last season? It's been too long.

I remember reading somewhere about another show that they were allowed to credit only so many regulars in the cast. I don't know if there's a standard number across the board or the number was unique to that show/network, but that could be why.

I felt like Monroe's get-out-of-Portland line was politically inspired.

Not normally a beard fan, but Milo wears it well.

Yes, this was the only thing that gave me pause in the pilot.

I was assuming they implied he lived in Germantown. Plenty of sketchy blocks in that area for sure, but I feel like they just looked up a street in Germantown and called it a day. Kensington might have been a more accurate choice.

Life is so sucktastic right now. The election cycle, wars, police violence, personal stress. So, haters, excuse me if I occasionally take a break from all of the darkness and snark of everything else I watch to bathe in the warmth of This Is Us (and its stellar cast). Now that The Great British Bake-Off has been sold

By "read" I meant "interpret," of course.

Yes, it was 5 and 6 that were the hardest for me, not 6 and 7 (although the "William In the Wilderness" episodes — book 7, I think — got skimmed heavily).

I've been a fan since their Project Rungay Days. :-) At one point Tom said he was a TV critic and Lorenzo worked in the fashion industry.

Yeah, now that I see where we actually are I don't think we'll get her again till Voyager. Not sure if the journal is the same one.
