So glad there will be a season three! But I was a little disappointed at Alex being pregnant. I was happy for the characters, but I thought it would maybe be more interesting to see them deal with not being parents, as it seemed the writers were headed that way at the end of season one. Balancing life with a child has

My favorite so far, too. Richard E. Grant was fantastic at playing a likable (and hilarious) asshole, one of his  specialties, and Jimmy Akingbola was fantastic. Mick is a character that is often meant to be funny, but one that also makes me more than a little uncomfortable and sad. Good for Rev. for presenting that.

Hugh Bonneville has a long history of wonderful character acting. He played quite a nasty piece of work in Daniel Deronda, the sweetest guy ever in Notting Hill, and the best Mr. Bennet I've ever seen in Lost In Austen. He's a favorite of mine, so I was really glad to see him in this. :-)

Re: is this a comedy, yes, I think it is. It's more gently humorous and self-deprecating and character-driven than it is LOL hilarious, but that's a very valid type of British humor, and humor in general. I certainly prefer it to setup—>punchline—>laugh-track over and over again.

Re: Shakespeare, you're sort of right. ;-) It's a bit reductionist but, basically, if the play ended with an engagement/marriage, it was a comedy. With death/deaths, it was a tragedy. The overall tone could be one or the other, or a mix of both. And it got complicated with the romances and the "problem plays."

Especially lesbians genuinely confusing them.

Exactly. She's also quite a bit younger than Perry, or at least looks quite a bit younger. The hair and the glasses, yeah, I could see it. But otherwise, no. And does Maddow wear men's suits? I've never seen evidence of that. Lame.

Also, Perry does NOT look like Rachel Maddow. That joke was lame, and even lamer the second time.
