It doesn’t matter she “didn’t mean it that way”! It’s racist. It is literally part of her job to think about “intent vs. impact”. Fuck this, fire her.

A few parents and some students, however, are defending the teacher’s intentions. “She’s a good teacher. She didn’t mean it that way. Some people took offense to it and I know how she meant it,” one student told CNN-affiliate WCBS.
I’m curious if/how/when lesson plans and class materials get approved in K-12 schools. Do teachers have to submit their plans/materials to anyone? If so, how often? Would someone else have seen this before she delivered it to the students?
If Sendejo had come in to wrap up and tackle instead of turning himself into a human missile, this wouldn’t have happened.
Imagine a firefighter dropping a baby and running away from a burning building because “I was real scared.” Cops are the only profession where “I freaked out and killed some people” isn’t seen as a disqualification for future employment.
was hesitating to say this, knowing that it may open me up to some dumb comments... but i’ve been both slapped and kicked by nieces, nephews, etc. who just accidentally got a little rough while playing around. if this guy really can’t tell the difference between a slap and an active shooter... ?
Feels like this article really underplays the fact that he also shot both of the parents, neither of whom were even accused of touching him. The grand jury’s take, then, is that it’s reasonable not only to assume there’s an active shooter without confirming it in any way, but also to subsequently just randomly shoot…
As the parent of a nonverbal adult who is destructive and has difficulty with spacial awareness (meaning he sometimes bumps into people at speed when going somewhere in a hurry), this is my worst nightmare. Fuck this trigger happy coward and fuck the system that’s protecting him.
It is both. Gaslighting is a type of lie, or more accurately a strategy of deception. A web of lies with the intent of getting the target(s) to question their own material knowledge and ultimately their sanity.
Having been gaslit by a narc ex, believe me, there’s a specific context for the term. It’s not just being lied to, it’s an active effort to get you to question your own recollection of events, breaking down your ability to perceive the truth around you. (e.g, “Don’t you remember when you...?” ) I think Trump is a…
I’m not sure what could top holding meetings in a dark room because they were too stupid to find the light switch and too proud to ask someone who had worked there under Obama.
“I have been Juuling for years . . . Common sense would dictate that if vaping were so dangerous that we all need to stop vaping immediately, that people would have fallen sick before this summer.”
To be fair:
Especially since his “accomplishments”- appointing judges and cutting corporate taxes- have nothing to do with peace.
Eh. The problem is that it’s one call. Or part of one call. What should happen, by law, is the full whistleblower complaint being submitted to Congress (which Trump is stopping from happening).
Wrong. He tried to buy the Buffalo Bills. They said no. Ergo - The Buffalo Bills are the last bastion of clear-eyed freedom and democracy left in this smoking husk of a nation. #billsmafia
This is just good policy. Such vast hoarding of wealth is immoral and any system which perpetuates this inequality is doomed to fail.
Scientists: *spend decades raising the alarm over climate change*
Although Obama knew perfectly well what it was for, as did we all, and he was just too polite/diplomatic to say it: it was for not being W.
I don’t think he remembers that the choice to give Obama the Nobel was more or less mocked by everyone at the time, and was seen as a weird choice. That being said, I don’t think Trump understands bullying Iran into a war they don’t want isn’t the action of a peaceful leader helping the world heal.
