Yes.  Especially now that all the trucks makers are making jacked up trucks some of us aren’t as spritely as we were in our youth and that fold out step is essential.

We have power rear vent windows in our 2015 Town and Country... so not so rare.

There are more mandatory items required in a car than there was in the past - I think the rearview camera being the latest example. 

Also Kia and Hyundai give 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warrantees.  So  some level of assurance that you will have functional transport for as long as you are paying off the car.

I generally go to dealers with 2 keys to my car - so even if they try that I can still drive away, and report theft of the (these days) $300 key to the cops.  Of course if they’ve hidden the car then one should call the cops early and often :)

Yes, we’re in Cary with no HOA.  First time around when we moved here it was hard to get our realtor to understand that HOA was not something that we wanted to deal with.  It significantly restricts your range of available house here though.

That can be easier said than done. In NC any new neighborhood over a small number of houses (I think it’s 12 or 14) is *required by law* to have an HOA. This has been going on for decades. It’s difficult to find houses for sale that are not in an HOA.
