I can understand the sentiment. Personally, I watched DS9 shortly after I watched B5 and I found it terribly lacking in every possible way. It's just that everything about it felt so forced.

G'Kar's speech on freedom was perhaps one of the most powerful scenes in the entire series, if not on sci-fi television as well. Katsulas' performance was flawless and heart-breaking, I still tear up watching him.

Please, Brooks engaged in some Jim Carrey-levels of overacting. And it wasn't even proper scenery chewing, he just over-enunciated everything with spittle shooting out of his mouth. He was not a good actor in any shape or form.
