They were also the dominant people in power. So, the repercussions are nonexistent. But, we can start at the next State of the Union and see how it goes. If the white man can shout “you lie” we can certainly bark a supremacist in chief

So his point about free speech was to say something that is not protected?
It’s one thing for us to know so many White people in this country feel it is a protected right to say that word whenever they damn well please because “it’s free speech” (which is to be expected since 9/10 of them do not know what free speech really is).
Yeah I don’t understand why, if his whole deal is teaching an anthropology class about oppression, he wouldn’t talk *about* usage of that word without actually *saying* that word.
We all know this is wrong and we all know that some white people feel they can talk to us anyway they feel, treat us anyway they feel and expect us to keep our mouth closed and accept whatever they do. To them, this is the American Way and we best be glad we get whatever crumbs we can.
They aren’t going to do shit. These spoiled yogurt looking cretins feel comfortable coming for black women because they watch black men doing it all the time.
He has nerve. What makes him think a old, fat woman would want him? The young ones wouldn’t want him if he was broke.
Paddington 2 was an awesome movie. We don’t even have kids and really enjoyed it.
It’s not the preference that’s an issue. He can state his preference without downing other women in the process.
Ewww, those women are gonna get worms from that old man.
His image will take a whopping. He’s mean and insensitive — not to mention sexist, misogynistic, and ageist. If you don’t mind all that — then you can have Quincy Jones.
Someone call Rashida and Khadija and tell them to go get they daddy.
Edginess for the sake of edginess = “I’m terribly afraid of people thinking that I’m average”
This. Even making the unbelievable concession of ignoring his greater historical legacy, he was a crappy artist - his works failed basic rules of good composition and he had nowhere near enough talent to justify it as something new.
Black Flat Earthers are the worst. A few have admitted to believing in it because “you never know” or a difference of an “opinion” is science is always good.
Being able to see good in everyone allows you to accept everyone’s money - like Badu performing for dictators...
Also, there were very fine people on both sides... on both sides.
I was really impressed with David Marchese’s handling of the interview. He asked the tough questions, respectfully, and held her to account asking her clarify her “points.” The best part was when she called Hitler a great artist, and he immediately was, “he’s not.”
I think the main reason everyone discounted the legitimacy of Mo’nique’s points is because no one wanted to give up netflix. Rather than consider the validity of her points, people rationalized reasons not to give up netflix through finding reasons to find fault with Mo’nique’s request.
