That is a very good point. Folks don’t mind anything as long as it’s not directed at them. Or maybe we feel like white people deserve it.

The people who overreacted to that title are the flip-side of the coin to people who voted for Trump based on nothing but their hatred of people of color. They did so while ignoring all logic and reasoning, just because they were butthurt at being told they have white privilege.

Yes. Yes it was that negatively received. There are entire articles dedicated to Damon right now. And YouTube videos. And Podcasts. None of them in a positive light. Well, 95 percent of them are in a negative light.

You know what’s divisive in the black community? Only loving black women for their ability to be strong, endure suffering, and sacrifice without having any of it reciprocated or naming it as a problem. That is a set-up for divide-and-conquer...one we as men can actually fix if we chose to.

A lot of the same shit the type of black men who got hurt by Damon’s article is just another version of the same shit white people say to excuse their racism. In getting so fucking hurt over it, all they did was prove the point of the article.

Those who hate us, won’t get it. But there were a lot of comments from men on my TL, who admitted unknowingly exhibited hurtful behaviors.

You know, I had that headline discussion with my woman. I felt like with a different headline the convo would have taken on a different form of discussion. The thing is, folks who hate black women were going to respond in the same fashion regardless, but also, we don’t just write headlines.
