totally correct - any logo that appears prominently on screen has to be cleared. compensation is one factor, but the manufacturer or license owner has to approve of the inclusion, as placement like that seen above implies tacit approval of the content of the show itself.

I think it depends...if including a product in your show would help get people to watch, the owner of the product might feel the show is cashing in on their established product value.
