This is my problem too. The whole time Gravik is taunting “Nick” that he’s going to die from the radiation. And G’iah-as-Nick is seriously playing it up.

BUT HUMANS HAVE BEEN KEPT THERE FOR WEEKS, MONTHS, YEARS!

What I want to know is how did those hostages, being stored under the Skrull base sitting on a radioactive zone, not die?

It also shows the director wasn’t paying attention to continuity when he made the show. At the end of Civil War, we see Rhodey trying out the Stark leg braces to help him walk, and we see him using those leg braces for the rest of his appearances through Endgame. He’s still disabled; he literally needs this mobility

yeah. Reading a Chris Claremont era X-Men book actually meant that you had to .....read.

I wouldn’t mind watching a 10 episode D+ show of how Tom Holland got is Spiderman powers. There HAS to be an interesting story there, somewhere.

See, I quibble with this parallel in that Mr. House is actually smart and put together long-term plans that made sense and stuck to them. Space Karen X is nowhere near his level, if he were put in place of house he’d have probably lost interest in the platinum chip after a month of looking.

I thought it was a well-written issue. I got what was happening.

Now I’m not accusing the writers of being pro-genocide. But its getting to a point where ‘its a warning’ is starting to look like ‘the X-Men exist so writers can commit genocide, but its ok cause we’ll bring them back for the next set of writers to do it all over again’.

Yeah, to be honest. That.

This is one of those storylines I just look at and go... jeez, that doesn’t seem very enjoyable for anyone.

I think Xavier having his beliefs properly challenged is good, but I think there’s a million more interesting ways to do that than ‘hoho what if he killed everyone’

Marvel’s obsession with committing genocide over and over again is more than a bit unsettling at this point. With how often its come up its seeming like the message that Marvel is trying to send is less ‘genocide bad’ more ‘minorities aren’t allowed nice things and if you start to get happy we’ll kill you all off’.

So - a show practically nobody watched has created the most drastic changes since the start of the MCU. Which they’re eitehr going to have to ingore or run the risk of cofusing the hell out of casual watchers.

Big “so it goes” energy.

I watched the first episode and it was like watching an early episode of AoS under the influence of some bad edibles.

Didn’t Watch Secret Invasion?

I think it would have been great if every slide ended with the description “and it’s pretty inconsequential.”

This is the finest io9 slideshow ever created.

Not sure I buy your Serena criticism. Could it be that after almost 30 years of playing tennis in the sun her skin tone has naturally faded after she retired?  I saw that happen when my sister moved from Hawaii to Seattle.

The iPhone 14 will actually alert 911 via satellite if there’s no cellular or Wi-Fi available.

dark colored skin is overall better looking than white skin, it’s why whites will risk skin cancer for a tan.

Never understood this. Actually, there’s a lot I don’t understand. Black women frying their hair when natural curly hair is lovely, skin lightening as well, dark colored skin is overall better looking than white skin, it’s why whites will risk skin cancer for a tan.
