I always thought that it was because it was unfinished - that the “core” of each reaper looked distinctly like a different species, and that the general reaper look was the exterior hull and such, which we just didn’t see because this human reaper was early in its creation.

I’ve more often heard that this film is mediocre than terrible. It was only aiming for good-enough.

They could have aimed higher than “brightly-colored garbage for toddlers” without having to try to be Shakespeare. Like, those aren’t the only two options.

The Mario movie is a nonstop conga line of references to video games that came out decades ago. It brings back the “Mario is from Brooklyn” origin which hasn’t been canon since 1995 but which is popular among anyone who grew up watching the 1989 Mario cartoon series. At one point they do the DK Rap for no reason.

“If a good movie is successful, people will make bad movies.”

Not a joke, just the way Hollywood works.

Oh it fucking terrified me. It still creeps me the hell out.

Especially using the Cain

Plus it made narrative sense in terms of the reveal of how Reapers were made and that weird ‘We’re kinda preserving you with our genocide’ thing the Reapers were doing.

I agree with this. It’s actually pretty creepy when you first see it too (at least I thought so back in 2010 when I was in my early 20s playing the game for the first time)

I think if it were heavier, an adhesive wouldn’t be enough to stick.

This one was a good concept as well

I wish they had used the concept art version where it looks like a giant fetus, that would have been way more evocative imo.

The Reaper Terminator (RT-800) is a really silly boss. But it’s a pretty fun fight.

I’m looking for a reason to hate this, but I’m not coming up with anything interesting.

Gotta love the attention to safety there by using a cloth rag.

Of course it’s not without risks, but it seems like, relative to the risks introduced by a police chase, it *generally* would lead to lower public risk exposure.

Came here to say this. Worrying out surveillance issues is a huge stretch here. This is simply a good thing if it cuts down on high speed chases.

37mph is slow enough that it’s unlikely to explode a pedestrian’s head or anything. I guess if this leads to fewer high speed chases, this is good? The trackers look big and obvious enough to limit most creeptastic uses.

Considering all the dumb shit rich people pay way too much for on Bring a Trailer, dropping 200k on this seems reasonable by comparison. At least this is a one-of-a-kind art piece.
