True, but there’s a very sound reason for that. They cultivate the image that Nintendo games are premium products, and maintaining their price actually does help to maintain that image. Many psychological and sociological studies show that when prices drop, the perceived value does as well.

The in-game toggle isn’t always all that workable. It shouldn’t be an expectation, though it’s certainly a nice-to-have.

That’s for “remasters”. Remakes typically fundamentally change the game where that wouldn’t be feasible, at least in a easy manner i.e. ff7. I agree toggle’s great for remasters. Remakes shouldn’t mean the original/older versions get discontinued though.

Every video game site is ripping into them. And for good reason. Rockstar’s heavy handed approach to the modders, removal of the originals for sale, and shitty eventual product release, deserves all the hate it gets.
