As a big fan of Brandon Sanderson’ Cosmere, this was the last thing I expected but nice to see it’ll introduce a new audience to the books.

The fact that Animorphs is on a list with Beowulf is wondeful.

But if you’re gonna go with a Torrey Peters Fortnite crossover, I’d prefer “Infect” because a Fortnite mode where everyone starts as a genderless banana and only the winner gets to have a gender sounds funny as hell.

Great, now make a Mistborn open world city exploration game ripping on old assassin’s creed but with Allomancy and Feruchemy powers.

It’s kinda wild to think that they announced 3 different traditional Dragon Quest games and each has a wildly different graphical style (assuming Dragon Quest XII isn’t gonna look like this or the HD 2D-style DQIII remake, which I think is a safe assumption).

The other recent handheld gaming PCs on the market (which cost $800+) run games like The Witcher 3 (which now is over 7 years old) only a bit better than the Switch does. They’re also much bulkier than the Switch and with shorter battery life.

Maybe it’d be more viable if they partnered with Netflix or something. Which I think they’re still doing for the Eisenhorn adaptation.

I’m sorry, but if the WWE couldn’t make it work; I think it’s only a matter of time until we see a Warhammer channel on... HBO Max, probably.

I feel like I am either vastly underestimating the size of the Warhammer fanbase, or they are grossly overestimating it.  There’s no middle ground here, one of us is severely wrong here.

It’s really never been my experience in my several decades of gaming that non-AAA games are buggy messes. Almost the opposite in fact. It’s pretty common for over hyped AAA games to launch with a ton of bugs because they’ve been heavily crunched to finish the content and then pushed out the door (see Cyberpunk). Even

And I could say literally the same thing back to you, and we could be in total disagreement about basically everything. That makes it a pretty worthless admonition.

It crashed eighteen times in eighteen hours. That's completely not okay at all

It’s a full priced game on the same shelf as every professional product. It’s not a student project. They don’t deserve kid gloves and certainly never asked for them. A very strange thing to suggest...

I cannot believe you’re calling “I expect the game software to not CONSTANTLY crash” as toxic entitlement. That’s toxic cheerleading for an incompetent product.

Well I don’t think a lack of filler content in most open world games these days would mean a few hours of gameplay. Plenty of these games go over 100 hours if you truly want to complete them and collect everything. The main storylines alone in Assassins Creed games are really long.

But all that aside, the hours of

I think folks are really talking about the art and color. For a game in the well worn “post apocalyptic” setting, it is extremely vibrant and lush. It’s not a desert and the colors aren’t restricted to gangs who somehow found cans of neon pink paint. It’s a really green, overgrown world, with only hints of an

I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone think that 1 crash an hour was OK....until now.

I hard disagree that we should be cool with games crashing a lot

Uh hard disagree. Perhaps most games of this size, made by a team of this size, are this buggy... But the bulk of indie games I play (or even medium scale non-indie games) don’t have a crash an hour. And other reviews suggest this isn’t a problem exclusive to Zack.

I don’t think it’s fair to say that most non-AAA games are buggy messes. You just have to scale the scope of your product to your team size. A single person can create a game that is extremely polished, if they scale the size of the game down to the point where a single person can polish it with reasonable effort.

It’s extremely possible I will find the exposition annoying too, but honestly something preachy like so much stuff in the 1990s sounds refreshing to me. I grew up with optimism and all kinds of moral lessons in Star Trek: The Next Generation/DS9/Voyager and even Captain Planet, even if the latter has absolutely no
