My understanding is that it is a true locker, not a limited slip diff. It does fully lock, sending full 50/50 power. I don’t believe Subaru’s system can do that. That said, I wish it was a selectable locker rather than automatic.

I don’t know how other manufacturer’s do it, but with GM the rear locker is optional. But, it is included in packages that almost every truck ends up with. Selecting the Z71 or towing packages on a Silverado or Sierra means the truck gets the rear locker.
