I think my favorite ever (that I’ve personally found) was a few years back, when copies of the first print run of this silly book came through my store at the time: It had the typo “aboy” on the front cover. (Do you see it? Look at the blurb! I caught it immediately and then couldn’t stop laughing.)

Speaking as an indie publisher, as well as a writer and copy editor: thank you, thank you, thank you for budgeting for an editor.

Those are so pretty! I’m impressed with myself, on the rare occasion I bother to paint mine, that I can even stay within the lines of my own nails, so I’m always amazed by nails that look as great as yours.

Happy Saturday, fellow Jez folks.

I really don’t know what to tell you, re: dyeing. I’ve got the same natural color you do, and I easily went to (dark) red, and have been returning to it regularly for over a decade now.

This just reminds me that I’ve been living in the neighborhood he plays jazz in for nearly 5 years and still haven’t gone to see him play yet.

I’ve mentioned this before (I think in a post about his upcoming film with Winona Ryder), but: Keanu Reeves! He was always my MOST favorite regular. He’s extremely well read, has great taste in books, likes to read all kinds of things, and always bounced up to the counter very eager to ask about what I was currently

Harvey was a semi-regular at my old store (in West Hollywood). He sometimes came in with one of his daughters, who at the time was already a teenager. It always made me sad to see her (and I hated seeing him, because not only was he a creep, he was also just a COLOSSAL asshole, every second I had to deal with him),

What a sweet thing to say, thank you! (I will say, I’m sure I’ll be fine, too. Barring major disaster, most of us are, most of the time, when it all shakes out. And in the meantime, I do have someone very special in my life who gave me a really amazing week last month. Even if he’s far away, we do still keep in touch,

I’ve seen it twice in theaters overall; once a few years ago, and then last night. I will say, one of my very favorite things about living in LA is that I will never, ever run out of options for seeing older films (both contemporary “old” ones and genuinely old ones; caught a beautiful silent film from 1928 at LACMA

Yeah, I didn’t get kissed or laid or anything in between until 26. I’m not saying my early 20s weren’t rough because of this, because they were; but — like you, I rarely meet people I truly click with, but when I do, it’s so much better as an adult when you really know what you want. The couple of people I’ve been

It’s so funny to read this right now; LDR fella actually wrote a review of a book about this very subject — essentially the quintessential Nessie debunking book, since it gets fully into the man who started the whole myth, and why. Fascinating stuff. He also got into what an extraordinary (and, frankly, insane) amount

God, I love Paperback Paradise so much. I have cried real tears laughing at it on more than one occasion.

I love this and I love you.

Hard same.

Did not know this, but I’m half-Swiss, so!

Yup. I’m a haver of said mutation/gene oddity. As I understand it, the gene meant to switch off once you age out of theoretically subsisting on mother’s milk, never actually switches off. For those of us who have this, they’ll crave it, to some degree, the rest of their lives.

Damn. Not exactly surprising, especially after that read, but still.

Its a certain type of shitty person that law enforcement attracts, much like car sales.

Thank you for chiming in on this.
