Jesus.
Jesus.
I had completely forgotten about those episodes until reading this just now (I think I just haven’t spared a thought for Scrubs generally in years), but now I recall them so vividly, and how great he was in them, it’s crazy to think I’d forgotten about them in the first place.
Agreed. It’s a really excellent piece.
Kwan performed a tearjerker of an exhibition performance to Eva Cassidy’s cover of “Fields of Gold.” (Seriously, it’s going to make you cry.)
I think CSI worked for me, at least the original (never cared for any of the spin-offs, nor the post-Petersen years), is that they had a really solid cast, and in its time, it was amazingly well produced, written, and directed. Also, they often pulled from some really fascinating real life cases. (Personal favorite…
You know, despite it being recommended to me constantly back in the day (for obvious reasons), I never actually watched it!
My biggest pet peeve was mostly one that was already solved, they were just clearly too lazy/inconsistent about using the same props every time: not always using a scale in photographs. (In real life, any crime scene photo without either an actual ruler, or some other object that can be used as a scale — like a dollar…
This may very well be true! But again, I’m just fatigued by the entire franchise (well, I was years ago), and really don’t care anymore. They aren’t for everyone.
You actually thought this was worth typing out and posting? Good grief.
Seriously. I mean, I was a forensics major who ended up with certifications in crime scene photography, fingerprint analysis, and blood spatter analysis; I even had photos published in a national forensics journal, after getting to be among the first to test what was then a brand new chemical for crime scene use. And…
Thank you for the reminder about this!
That final line from Killmonger is incredible. It would be for any character, but for his in particular, I was kind of blown away by it.
I’m excited about it! It’s been so long since I got to go/travel anywhere (nearly a decade), I feel like I need to relearn how to even enjoy a vacation, haha.
Thank you! I love walking (I do a lot more of it in LA than people would assume), so I’m looking forward to that aspect of it.
Missed last weekend’s post, as I was at my first wedding, which, despite going alone, ended up being so much fun! My lovely friend, the bride, insisted on sitting me at “the cool table” at the reception, which had some old friends of mine I hadn’t seen in about 10 years, plus another awesome lady, so we all had fun…
This is a really great point, and expounds, in a way, on the cleverness of the original.
2) I expect good conversation
I’ll admit, after months of solid uselessness to the point of wondering why I even bothered, I’ve had a nice amount of recent success with it lately. Then again, I’m only looking for hooking up (albeit regularly, if possible, rather than just a bunch of one-offs). As of right now, it’s connected me with two guys in…
A good and perfectly reasonable list.
All I can think of is that early Seinfeld episode.
