I have a really nice genuine Swiss Army knife (that I actually bought in country as a teenager, while visiting Swiss relatives) that has a lot of sentimental value — and it’s so pretty, the handle is made of blue abalone shell! — that I had grown so used to carrying in my bag, I’d totally forgotten to take it out. I

Not to mention pretty much ruined the sanctity of her home.

It would be a far, far better use of her time and brains. Law enforcement is both functioning exactly as designed (as commented on above, to maintain white supremacy), and broken beyond repair. There’s no “fixing” it unless you literally blow it up and start entirely from scratch.

I can definitely see some merit in your theory, and it would not surprise me at all if at least parts of it turned out to be true.

This happened about 15 years ago with Ralph’s supermarkets, at least in SoCal. A friend of mine worked with a program that would take donations of their day-old bakery goods to shelters. The second the store remodeled to look much fancier, they just started throwing the food in the (locked) dumpster, and would

Same. I couldn’t even properly participate in actual, designated nap time as a kid! I’ve always felt gypped by this. I have a friend who can fall asleep in like 10 minutes or less, often in strange positions, and I hate him for this. Meanwhile, I’m an insomniac who’s lucky to get to sleep in under an hour.

Ugh. And photographing concerts (particularly for a shitty agency like Shutterstock — NEVER AGAIN) is already such a crap gig. As a fellow photographer, I feel for her. Fuck this guy.

This is my favorite comment on the internet for today, god bless you. (I just... love Peter Gabriel a lot. And also sarcasm.)

I can tell you from firsthand experience that that is not any kind of an affectation: it’s just her genuine personality. Ugh.

This is such a perfect comparison I can’t believe I never thought of it until now. She is awful. I had to deal with her in person, years ago, and she was a complete nightmare.

I once had to suffer through her being in my old bookstore for a book signing event. She was, by far, in my couple of years at that job, the WORST and most insufferable, egomaniacal, asshole I’d ever dealt with at that point.

I will definitely be doing my best, on my upcoming weekend (which, for me, is Monday/Tuesday). Also, that Twitter/Instagram is one of my very faves.

Same. Though a lot of my current shit is on the personal level — though, as ever this year, the constant barrage of overall world/political climate seems to make everything worse and more exhausting — so... it’s a process. I’m not sure when it ends. Perhaps it doesn’t!

May be worth looking into!

+1, from hell, which I guess is just Where I Live Now.

I’m from San Diego, and my mama still lives down there (though fortunately not north enough to be at risk from the current fire). I’m also friends with several SD firefighters, through my father. I live up in LA now, which of course is currently on fire in like 6 different places at once.

Pretty much nothing makes me happy lately, I’m sorry to say, but that may partly be because there are no more constant reruns of Parks & Rec on TV for me, and it is indeed a very happy show. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I miss it.

I think my reserve tanks for any hope or optimism for the future are officially empty.

“What’s that? Oh, is it something that was engineered efficiently to do exactly what it needs to do? What if I were to just.................... DISRUPT that for you?”

There’s plenty about the USPS that can (and should) be complained about, but I’m honestly not sure this is one of them.
