$$$ As expensive as trucks have gotten, an SUV with a similar towing capacity is still more, generally. I have a truck for towing and never use the bed, but tow with it constantly. I’d love an SUV, but dont feel like spending the extra cash for something that actually can tow.

I’m fairly certain you could run an entire blog just about shifty towing practices. Local news here in MKE just did a lovely story about tow companies yanking people out of their own parking spots at apartments and then charging them through the nose to get the car ‘back’. Moral of the story - never let anyone tow you…
