I wouldn't say it's whitewashed, but it's somewhat condensed. Since HBO had to go the shitty route with such short seasons, it would take three or four of these short seasons to really cover all the details that you get in the books.

As far as race, each people has a culture that is relatable to one on earth. Most

There some whitewashing in the show. Ros (the prostitute from Winterfell who goes to King's Landing) is a new character for the show who took the place of two WOC. The show's eliminated some of the other POC as well and it's doubtful whether they'll add them into the story at this point.

Essos, the continent Daenery is in, is multi-ethnic. The disappointing aspect of the show was having the slaves and slavers almost all brown people. In the books, both slaves and slavers are of all races. There are even slaves from Westoros (Jorah was exiled from Westoros for selling slaves.) In the future (spoilers,)

It's not so white washed. The later seasons will have more POC I think (and hope). Westeros is mostly white, Essos isn't, and the later books feature that area more, and characters from there.

They're also all about 5-7 years younger in the books. Like...everyone. Except, maybe Drogo.

Well, a number of POC character have been removed in the show. But honestly, they do have a better track record than other counter parts. In the later books lots of POC, even in central roles. But the gimmick by HBO is fucking tone deaf.

It's whitewashed as far as I saw it in my imagination?

No. The books tell you exactly how everyone looks. But I think sometimes on the show they go with the better actor. There are a numbered of POC in the books.

If I remember correctly, the idiot who ate the whole thing was a doctor, which makes it all the more sad and hilarious.

Update: I literally just went to the store and bought a bunch of artichokes for dinner because this thread inspired me and made me crave artichokes. So pumped. Living the dream.

I remember that! He ate all the spines and everything! I just can't imagine being so attached to the money that I spent on food that I wouldn't stop eating after one leaf, thinking that I guess I just don't like artichokes or something

or at all.

I though it was strange that when the whole Dylan Farrow thing was blowing up a few weeks ago, people were constantly talking about how it was innocent until proven guilty and there was no proof, etc etc, BUT people are fine to assume that OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony are murderers, despite the fact that they were

Sitting at home due to a school cancellation does not in the least make you an expert on why schools are cancelled. Why would it? If that's true, then all children would be experts on why schools are cancelled as well, since they do the same things as you. But certainly you're not arguing that you're as knowledgeable

No, but you could argue it does exploit those it purports to be helping for it's own monetary gain...

I believe that the rate of false rape accusations is right in line with the rate of false accusations for other crimes, too. That's a super-important point. Nobody views burglary victims with suspicion and hatred because it's immediately presumed that there's a good chance that they're lying and conniving and

Yeah, I think that's MIA trying to be socially aware. She makes great music, but she seems really dumb in interviews talking about non-musical topics.

Absolutely. If we can legalize gay marriage in my lifetime, surely we can get this done.

Filmed in Morocco, but still a killer song.
