There have been a couple times where I decided to be all nice and Stepford-y to my partner for a night or weekend. It freaks him out to no end. Within an hour, he's asking me to stop.

London, ON

Oh, I get there are reasons to believe that $1600 is cheap. Those reasons keep me in a city of 300k people.

No denying that. Uncool, but unlikely to bankrupt me.

You think $1600 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment is cheap?

Because even you, with a strict standard of what should be published here, wanted to read it?

I wonder how many of these could be the result of date-rape drugs.

If I ever came into large sums of money I'd buy acres of land and set up the biggest abandoned pet sanctuary ever.

Ew. All I can think of is how disgusting humans would taste, with our diet.

That surprises anyone? He hasn't done anything to help women's rights around the world. He criticized American nuns for being too 'independent' and not agreeing with the church's position on abortion/same sex marriage. I really don't get the love for him on this site.

Well, to be totally accurate, the definition of Feminism is to promote the equal rights of women to men. It's there in the name. That's not to say many feminists are also over-all equal rights supporters, but feminism itself is about elevating the global rights of women.

I'm curious what you think the difference is? I've had casual babysitting jobs and jobs where I lived at employers homes for 3 nights a week (plus being there all day during the week) and spent more time with the kids than the parents did, but I never had a problem saying I was a babysitter.

Erg. I catch myself being irrationally angry at women who abuse other women and who give fodder to all the anti-feminists out there (I seriously dread the 'See? Women are their own worst enemies' reactions to these stories), but then feel upset with myself for being more upset at a woman than I would be for a man

I hate how I have no doubt that story is true. Stupid world.

I just don't get how people don't see how damaging it is to kids! As I wrote in response to someone else, my 4 year old niece once confided in me that there was something wrong with her and she thought she should have been a boy, since she didn't like the same stuff that her mother and sisters liked. I explained

lol- I've been working on one of those with a friend of mine since highschool. We lost track after reason 80 or so.

Trust me, I feel the same way about gendered boy clothing. I've got 8 nephews, and have seen almost all of them molded into tough little emotionless misogynists by gender stereotyping about how boys should act. One of their fathers once called his son 'gay' when he saw that my mother had painted his nails when she

Ugh. That's disturbing. NOTHING intended for young children should ever have anything to do with being sexy (or, as another commenter pointed out, being a 'stud').
