To be honest, I don't think that gender roles need to exist in today's world. Wikipedia defines them as "a set of social and behavioral norms that are generally considered appropriate for either a man or a woman in a social or interpersonal relationship." What activities or behaviours would you say are not

That's another of the issues I've had with the usual definitions for feminism, to be honest.

I used to define feminism as the idea that women are equal to men, but then you get the BS about how women are 'equal but different' and therefore should have different expectations.

If you clicked through to the ad campaign, you'd see that they wrote that 68% of Indian women are victims of domestic violence. It's not racist to want to point out efforts to reduce that number.

I think I'm a horrible person. I looked at these pictures and my first thought was "Wow- she has amazing skin."

That's true. There were quite a few pairs of pants that now just fall off my hips. I hope I still have them.

I've lost a fair bit of weight over the last year, and in another 17 lbs I'll have reached my goal weight (which won't be as dramatic as this was, but will definitely be healthier). I just realized a month ago that I won't be able to do any 'before and after' shots though, since I was so uncomfortable with how I

So we've got a judge who admits he doesn't know what rape is and doesn't know how sentencing works? Aren't those two rather important facts to know if you're a FREAKING JUDGE?

"Every day I pray for the women my boys will love."

I'm always so conflicted about cases like this. I wanted horrible things to happen to this man, but feel like that makes me less of a person myself. I can only hope that this gives the women he abused some sort of closure.

Shit- really? I love all things Bill Nye, but hate all things related to reality tv. My brain hurts!

:) My original dream wedding was me, the groom, his parents, my parents, his grandmother, and one witness each. His included all his friends (and he's a huge extrovert). We ended up with a good compromise, and I even enjoyed the day a lot more than I thought I would. Getting rid of most traditional stuff helped.

Just be careful- even with our carefully chosen guest list (about 75), we counted on some people not showing, but every single person came. There was even an unexpected guest (my parents' former foreign exchange student happened to be in Canada around the time, and my mom figured he counted as one of the family and

I actually didn't say they should get a raise to $15 an hour. They should, however, get a raise of some kind so that working the minimum wage doesn't guarantee you a life of abject poverty. I live in Canada, where the minimum wage ranges from 9.50 to 10.75. No one's gone bankrupt as a result of it, and I know

Did you read the statistics? A large percentage are single mothers raising children.

Have you been to a city library lately? They've been turned into complete community centres in most cases. Multi-media equipped, job-finding help, volunteer coordination, etc, etc. There's more than books (not that they aren't still awesome book sources).

I don't think I've ever admired anyone before the way I admire her. It kills me that she isn't idolized more. Why aren't my nieces putting pictures of her on their walls instead of Taylor Swift?

My brother-in-law is a doctor, and while he's not so overt about it, he obviously has no clue how regulars live. My husband and I are comfortable, but he can't seem to get that we can't afford to take a month off work whenever we want to go travel around the Mediterranean.

The math behind giving them a pay raise is so simple:
