I have a non-Anglo name that white people cant pronounce and honestly, I hated it for most of my teenage life but love it as an adult. It’s a connection to my culture and I’m happy to have it.

I appreciate that. I was a teacher and a nanny, so am of course comfortable with kids. But, I came to motherhood late and worry a lot. Thank you for your sensible words!
Speaking of making Trump mad, early voting starts today in GA-6. If you’re in East Cobb and Sandy Springs, go vote for Jon Ossoff! I can’t because I’m a mile outside the district, but my high school is — and last week I registered several of my seniors. Also, this tweet delighted me today:
Trump’s approval rating is approaching the percentage of fuckwits in America. They may only be a percentage or two apart, but I doubt his approval will drop below, say 33%. Those idiots love that he lies all the time, love that he’s destroying America, and love love love being assholes just like him.
On Saturday it was reported (on AM Joy) that Rep. Devin Nunes has his own deep connections to Putin and a Russian oligarch who is the distributor for his vineyard. (This should obviously disqualify him from chairing the Trump-Russia investigation).
The “rule of law” does not apply to Republican politicians in America.... for as long as they can get away with it. GOP rule 1: Do as much horrible shit as possible until the courts say no or your bank account is audited.
The rule of law has been temporarily suspended because the party in charge won’t enforce it on itself.
This is all part and parcel with Session’s virulent opposition to nonwhite-immigration. Pretty much USA will soon have military occupation zones. Welcome to “District 9"
That Katy Tur tweet........ I’m never going to be able to relax with these evil fuckwads in power.
Home grown terrorists. Plain and simple.
They do the same thing with “He tells it like it is” to “That’s not what he REALLY meant”
lol “gave up his billionaire lifestyle.”
I can’t stress this enough: every time I heard someone (including Bernie, and I like Bernie) talk about ‘the Establishment’ during the election, my head nearly exploded. Republicans have controlled Congress for most of my life. They ARE the establishment.
I was hesitant to call 45's voters stupid because I had thought that it’s rude and not necessarily true.
It’s charming how quickly his backers can switch from “Donald is an alpha male silverback gorilla who will not shit from anyone” to “Donald is a precious little baby who is not accustomed to Washington, D.C., and must be sheltered from those nasty politicians”. Supporting Donald is a tremendously corrupting enterprise.
Is there a reason they only interviewed people in their 70s and 80s?
You’ve perfectly described my parents’ relationship. They weren’t happy, but the “failure” stigma kept the marriage together WAAAAAAAY longer than any logical person would have advocated for. There were at least two separations and reconciliations over ten years before they finally ended things.
