I know - I’ve had 3 Corolla’s - two of which my sons are still driving. But I also have a 2002 Honda Odyssey that’s getting close to 200k miles with only a few replacement parts. And I think recent Hyundai models (2011+) are at least a match in quality.

Any Honda hybrid isn’t mainstream. The prius is probably the only thing that makes sense of the concept and I wouldn’t even trust them to last beyond 10 years or so. I’ve had both Hondas and Toyotas last well over that with minimal breakage.

Are these actually based on 10 year old cars? If so, I’d bet that Kia and Hyundai are way better now - at least matches for Honda.

“boneheaded design decision”, yes. But wasn’t that obvious enough to not buy a ‘performance hybrid’? Don’t judge the whole brand for something unrelated to the mainstream models.

All of them. But Republicans don’t even bother with the pretense that they are working for anyone else.

Republicans would have liked to kill Social Security years ago to get the money into funds that the bankers who provide their campaign funding can control - and take a fee off the top. It could still happen if you keep electing Republicans.

Why isn’t whoever takes the ticket and parking money for people to be there responsible for the cleanup?

If you were describing streaming to someone who already uses a cable service with a DVR, describe it as a system where pretty much everything is already recorded for them and all they have to do is play it whenever they want. As for devices, Roku is the place to start unless they already in bed with Apple. Everything…

That’s ummm, hilarious, that google wants to automate the driving but insists that the typing is manual. Especially considering that their voice recognition is pretty good.

It would be fun if the self-driving cars would communicate with each other to detect and surround the a*holes so they wouldn’t have space to do anything stupid and had to just stay with the traffic flow.

Most cars last 10+ years, making it hard for it existing vendors to make money. Apple will have some patented way to make you buy a new one every year when they release the next model that comes in a new color or more rounded edges.

Sometimes it is not a good idea to let the company find out they can get along without you.

Something called new-skin is better than bandages most of the time. It’s a liquid, sort of like superglue with an antiseptic. Smells bad and burns but it fixes things quickly and doesn’t get in the way.
