Yeah I always feel uncomfortable when people characterize the right as exclusively Islamophobic, homophobic or racist. Are many, many Republican politicians those things? Yes. Do many conservative voters vote with a bigoted agenda? Yes. However, painting all conservatives as bigoted does not seem productive, in my

I agree with you that just because Muslims are marginalized today does not mean that conservative Islamic beliefs should be left alone. Islamophobic conservatives tend to declare things about Muslims that are false and racist, so it is understandable that the left is more careful about criticizing antiquated Islamic

Same! I do think I prefer Another Day of Sun the most though, because they obviously used professional singers. I get what they were trying to do with Stone and Gosling as the main characters, but I can't get past their singing when I listen to the other tracks.

Same here. This time it was particularly funny because Jess would normally be very charmed by a cuckoo clock.

I loved that part. So truthful and made his love story that much sweeter.

I was a little thrown by Reagan's criticism of Nick as "too childish". Not because it isn't true, but just because Reagan doesn't seem to care that much about Nick's immaturity. But part of me wonders if Reagan just said it in passing, and Nick took it to heart. They're not the best at communicating.

Just signed in to say I love this comment so much. As an insecure 11-year-old, I often cried to my mom about how I felt like I was the ugliest girl in class. My mom, with good intentions I'm sure, told me "It's alright to not be pretty, as long as you're a good person". Which is absolutely true, but as a pre-teen,

I went to high school with him, and I'm so excited that he's found some success. Didn't know him very well, but he always seemed like a funny guy.

Yeah, it got increasingly hard to do that as the first season went on. Really like the show, but I can't help but wonder how much better it would be with more nuanced characters (other than Rachel and Quinn, of course).

Yeah, I really wanted them to flesh out the contestants a little bit more. I don't care that much about Jeremy or Chet, but I think it would be valuable to the show to explore why these intelligent women respond to Rachel/Quinn's manipulation.

She is amazing on this show though, so I'm selfishly glad that her profile wasn't that big over the last few years.

I do think that "feminism" has a very broad definition, and there are many different, valid viewpoints within that definition. I'm fine with people not labeling themselves as feminists, but to reduce a movement to a single ideology isn't very productive. That being said, I think having a feminism "movement" helps to

While not many people in the US would outright say that women are not equal to men, I think feminism provides a movement to actually establish that equality in a practical way. We can say things all we want, but our experiences as individuals and a society show that there is still a long way to go before equality is

Will try them out! I'm not a big fan of sea salt flavored things, but the chile sounds intriguing! Do you know of any dark chocolate + fruit combinations that aren't as sweet as brookside?

That sounds delicious. I'm going to the grocery store today; I'll try to look for them!

Yeah, while I do enjoy them, they don't really give me my dark chocolate fix. I've been eating 65-72% dark bars instead, but those usually don't come in combinations! My life is such a struggle.

I've only recently joined the "dark>milk" chocolate side, so I love discovering all the things that go great with dark chocolate. Those mountain thins sound divine, and more satisfying than those Brookside berry things.

I do think the show did a better job this season of holding her accountable (especially in her tiffs with Rogelio) but I agree that it could do a better job of that in her relationships with other characters. Especially with Xo and Petra: Jane is super sanctimonious with them and I feel like her lecturing to them is

I'm paraphrasing, but Rogelio's: "Why do you have a sex basket from my mortal enemy?" was my laugh-out-loud line for sure.

I think the majority of the US "still" watch network TV, albeit on streaming or DVR. I know I'm not one to pay for anything other than hulu plus (and free netflix trials for kimmy schmidt binges), so the majority of TV I watch is network (and I watch a lot of TV).
