Congrats to the Columbia grad student union for winning this victory. I wish the grad students at my (private, non-Ivy) institution would unionize on principle, but our university gives us all relatively high stipends in a low cost-of-living city, so I think most people wouldn’t see the point.

I’m kind of amazed that grad students are managing to get unionized before adjuncts, but at least progress is being made. If it keeps up, hopefully it will spread.
