Not higher pitched. The pitch doesn't change, it just has more bass to it. I bought the cheapest one from Fry's. It's basic and works just fine. I've used it in two different places and it still holds like a champ. Just make sure to mount it to the studs and get a mount that's rated for your size of TV. Skip that step and it'll probably fall of the wall one day.
