That makes a great deal of sense. I can only speak for myself in that if I could stream KO on Netflix under my existing subscription, I’d probably watch him more than I used to (but that’s partly because I generally avoid ESPN for all but live sports, mainly because I just don’t watch much live TV, but partly out of

Couldn’t stand his political shtick, but he’s spot on more often than not when talking about sports. Even if I can’t stand his stupid smug face.

Preach. - A father of three adopted children

Exactly! He raised her and has been there for her. Bill is her father

I hate all these celebrity paternity stories (this one, the constant rumors about Khloe Kardashian, etc.). Regardless of the DNA test, Bill Clinton is her father. That’s how parenthood works. Biological origins are useful for medical histories, and that’s about it; they are certainly of no use to the public. All of

Highly Questionable is now the only non-live sports I watch at all on ESPN other than an occasional 30 for 30, E:60, OTL.

Oh, it’s a smug mug. And he’s too overbearing with politics. Plus, both sides of the aisle are loaded with cable buffoons. He’s smarter and a better broadcaster than all of them. And in sports, he’s unique, or close to it.

I think Netflix could use a sports franchise. While I realize something with a relatively short shelf life like commentary on daily/weekly sports stories would be new ground for them, I think it’d be an interesting direction for them to move. Though I imagine licensing the rights for the video clips would cost them as

^^^ So much this. I can’t even watch ESPN anymore. Anything but the actual coverage of sports is fucking terrible.

Why not Real Sports on HBO? Great program, great content. Per John Oliver:

Chase away everyone with actual talent and critical analysis in favor of hot takes and screaming. That’s a great way to help someone else build real competition.

And there is the rub. Olbermann’s model is counter-productive to any cable network trying to keep their content partners happy- be it sports or politics.

HBO Sports maybe? I think he could really crank it up a notch with some of the good newslike programs they have.

He's actually good at both. ESPN will miss him and I know I will. A grown up amongst a group of children. Duck Bob Ley they may come for you next.

This was the best work of Keith’s career. I hope he doesn’t go back to politics, and he was so in his element calling out malfeasance and pure idiocy in sports. Don’t know where that could catch on in the current landscape, though, and still keep or find an audience.

Nate Silver has just straight up stopped checking his emails and answering his phone.

That and the “God told me to show her the way” bullshit he’s spouting is infuriating. I guess that is the nicest way possible to say “This single mother who had a baby out of wedlock needs her some Jesus,” if there’s a nice way of saying something horrifyingly condescending about someone you’re dating.

There’s nothing impressive about a rich, sheltered white woman becoming even more rich by creating movies and TV shows that are somewhat based on her privileged life.

Nope, she deserves better. Lena Dunham is overrated.

She deserves better than working with Lena Dunham.
