If anyone at Deadspin had been paying the least bit attention for the last year or so, this would come as no surprise. Alas, to be a narrative factory and not a sports opinion site!

lol shitty people succeed whether we want them to or not. And “shitty” is pretty relative.

AB is (more likely than not) going to succeed, regardless of your or my wishes, because he is one of the 5 most talented people on the planet at his specific craft. And he wasn’t born that way. He worked himself into it. And he

Why do we want shitty people like this to succeed?

I’m sort of with you on this.  The best “heels” are the heels that are so good at their jobs that they stayed employed, and highly compensated, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Sure now that he high-tailed it out of Pittsburgh he is a dick.

What can I tell you? When it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers, I am suspect of all motives.

The more AB shows his ass, the better Ben and Tomlin look.

he needs the word “think” in there, between “people” and “will”-

I’ve heard so many little stories of Brown being a dick.  Like nothing that is damning or anything, but just lots of little moments of bullshit similar to this, and when you see the same kind of behavior from the guy over and over, you quickly learn, oh this isn’t just a show or whatever, this guy is just genuinely a

I binged watched this weekend. Now I can't wait for Netflix to have a go at Ramona Q, a dark and gritty take on Beverly Cleary's beloved series.

Yes, I read the books. They uplifted me in spite of the bad things that happened. This series feels like it's fetishizing her past abuse and mistreatment.

You could of been educated, you see.

I recently had the desire to rewatch the old Megan Follows version, and found that it doesn't seem to be available to stream anywhere. The purchase options come down to paying $20 for the older DVD with borderline picture quality, or like $35 for the fancy remastered, widescreen edition.

Yeah, I have nothing against looser adaptations, nor against the idea behind this adaptation in and of itself. I don't need slavish devotion to the canon. But you can talk about changes you're making without sounding dismissive of the original work, and that's something I really want from someone who's adapting

Did they use half of Scott Thompson?

Good thing he fooled them with that dress, then.

You should have seen the crazy girl I met on spring break, Anne of Coral Gables, what a hot mess.

My first thought as well. All we need is a Little House on the Prairie reboot now.

That moment when you realize that half of the cast of Kids in the Hall are in the original CBC version in serious roles…..

What I like about McNulty's casting is that Anne is supposed to be, let's say, not the cutest, maybe? She isn't a goblin by any stretch, but she feels more like a gangly, awkward (allegedly) homely girl.
