I think Charlie Broiler read your comment, and made “San Junipero” in response.

OMG how many times do I have to say this: I don’t CARE about Snoke’s “true identity” or whatever strawman you’ve created to defeat me with. I care about how the hell Snoke managed to take control of an entire Army, turn one of Luke Skywalker’s most talented pupils, and force the Jedi who once helped defeat an entire

In what world would Snoke be the one to deliver the exposition? Like I already said, Luke was the perfect candidate to fill us in on exactly how Snoke rose to power (which I once again would argue is different than his backstory). It’s especially glaring because Luke is used A LOT in the film to fill in other backstory

He’s such an asshole about it too. Like she’s joking around and having fun and entertaining people (as is her freaking job), and he’s just being a miserable dick who refuses to concede and possibly risk hurting his fragile ego by losing to his female co-host. She deserves an award for keeping the segment afloat.

YES, THIS. The backstory of a character vs. The backstory of the conflict is a very different thing. I could care less about who Snoke is or where he learned the Force or all the jazz. But how he managed to conquer the galaxy? That shit is kinda important and, without it, makes this whole trilogy feel rather

I’m mostly frustrated not that Snoke reflects little on Kylo and Ren, but that he doesn’t reflect AT ALL on Luke. The fact that Luke let this guy turn one of his students, destroy the order he was trying to build, and ostensibly take over the universe should be a HUGE point of guilt for the Jedi Master. But, instead,

How is it a problem with Episode VII? Like Rian says in this interview, it would make no sense for Finn or Rey or even Kylo to unveil the full extent of who Snoke is because, assumingly, they wouldn’t no either. But you know who would know who Snoke is, or where he came from, or how he rose to power? Luke Freaking

Is there seriously no middle ground between a nine hour trilogy of movies and, like, a five minute scene of backstory TOPS? And comparison to the original trilogy is such a whatboutism, c’mon now. Just because the Empereor was an ill-defined, mysterious bad guy doesn’t mean it’s okay for Snoke to be.

To be fair, his breakthrough script was Things We Lost in the Fire, so schmaltz was always part of his M.O. He just had a few years where he decided to make some money by being a sell-out too, doing shit like Here Comes the Boom and the like.

Those posters spread much farther than just NYC Subway ads. Bafflingly, it was the main poster created for the film, which put it in thousands of theaters across the nation. The only reason it became a meme, I imagine.

To give a serious answer: I imagine someone in the cast (an actor, or producer, or maybe even the director) had it in their contract that the film MUST receive some form of theatrical release. So dumping it into a couple theaters over a single weekend was the cheapest option for fulfilling that part of the

Yeah, you could tell Kevin Hart isn’t really used to performing in front of crowds who aren’t rolling on the floor with laughter at everything he said. Clearly he was shook.

Cecily truly is one of the best members of the cast at keeping things straight faced. It’s also one of Beck Bennett’s strongest skills as any actor. Seriously, has that guy ever broke ONCE?

That’s just how Kevin Hart does all his standup material, though. He confuses speed and volume for humor a good bit of the time. He took the wrong lessons from Murphy and Pryor, me thinks.

And like most hacky comedians, he also has a tendency to repeat a punchline or quotable phrase OVER AND OVER until he gets a bigger laugh. He just seems to wear the audience down with his energy, in my opinion.

This arrest is rather in character. When I started to read what name he called the cops, I was very concerned it would be an offensive slur of some sort. But, NOPE! They just “goofy.” Stay cool, Hannibal.

“I agree with this sarcastic comment in a non-sarcastic way.”

Or donate any money made to charity as part of his “rehabilitation.” From a PR perspective, not sure which is better.
