One of his sons had a DV and DUI in the time I was there. Daughter had speeding tickets out the wazoo, if I remember right. I never had the pleasure - if they heard the last name, someone with more gravitas came down.

He was my lifting buddy in Kuwait! I lifted with him for about three months before I realized who the fuck he was. He was awesome - the only guy who didn’t dismiss me or hit on me for being female, and really helped me with my form.
I worked down in arapahoe for a while as a prosecutor, and we absolutely hated when his kids got in trouble because if his attorneys didn’t get them a deal he liked, he would totally try to throw his weight around.
I lived in LA with my abuela in the 90s. Being a teenager, I couldn’t been seen with her in the mall, so I’m hanging out at the car waiting for her to return from Crate & Barrel or something with my hot topic bags, when Shaq walks up carrying my abuela’s boxes. She had NO clue who he was, he was just the closest…

And yet I have tons of alumni in NEPA who talk about the people who “smeared” JoePa.
A couple of years ago, my campus invited a bunch of student veterans to go through care under fire training with the student bus drivers. It was a pretty good deal - they gave us a full med kit with the only condition being we carry it in our backpacks.
I told her that every campus has its issues, and that we were lucky this year we hadn’t had any issues yet. I’m Jewish, and sometimes running smack into these...conceptions many of the Catholics in the area have about their culture leaves me agog.
I coach at the other catholic school across town, and last year, 3/4 of…
I did consider outing myself to her, just to see if she’d freak. :)
I work at a small catholic college, and last week a mom called me, and during the conversation, informed me, she wants her daughter to attend my school because “there’s no rape at a catholic school.”
I desperately want you to have actually calculated this.
The funny thing is, that is very out of place in rugby culture. There is a LOT of emphasis on concussions, and being honest about injuries. My teammates realizing how bad things were with me was the first in a chain of events that led to that coach getting fired by us, and disciplined by USA rugby.
The sad thing is I understand it- all of us had previously had or seen teammates with concussions, and we all know the drill. Go to the ER or the urgent care, see the doc, have them tell you there isn’t anything we can do, go home, and sleep it off.
I’ll be honest and tell you that the real reason I stopped playing was that I no longer had any trust in my teammates or coach. Especially my teammates - I felt rather betrayed, and the lack of concern actually ended a couple friendships.
HAHAH. That last part convinced me. ONE OF US. ONE OF US.
No, seriously now that I’m a coach - and that I coach college girls? They love me when they first get injured, and hate me when they are healing. But I am absolutely willing to be the bad guy if it means my kids aren’t back on the field before they are fully…
My last season of playing rugby, I took a pretty normal tackle Saturday and still had a headache when I went to practice on Tuesday. I had had a number of concussions in the Army, and I figured I had just bruised something, because I didn’t any of the signs I was used to. I really didn’t like our new coach, but I was…
I just saw it tonight, and it is so well done. Same world, just as magical, WAY darker, more mature humor.
I’m reading the book right now, and the prose is a bit much, but I AM SO ENGROSSED
I didn’t handle many cases where this applied - because I worked sexual assault prosecution, I dealt with a lot of mental recall, and presumptions about how a victim should act.
However, there isn’t much room. Part of the reason is that taking a article of the UMCJ all the way to court martial is partially a issue of…
No deaths. But a ton of work, and scary days, for people who weren’t sure WHAT had been compromised, or what was no longer safe.3
