Love the car, not sure if its at “ludicrous” power levels though. Definitely enough to have fun.

I leased a 2017 Ghibli SQ4 (top trim) for under the $70k figure that CR quotes. Since many of them are steeply discounted, I think its a bit unfair to compare it to its actual sticker. Hell, I definitely wouldn’t get one at sticker. I agree that interior quality isn’t up to MB’s standard, but its not terrible. …
NP because I respect the handiwork and creativity of owner. Obviously it was built as a joke and just to have fun. Jalopnik, please follow or approve my posts please as I’me a daily visitor. Thanks!
If the SS looked anything liked this, it would’ve sold better. Younger people in the market for a quick car don’t want it to look like a grandma-mobile. Plus who wouldn’t want to say they have a ‘GTSR W1'?!
Will it? Tesla might win to 60, but after that I think ICE engines pull away.
They should’ve thrown an LSA or something in there, instead of an LS3. 430 HP is not going to motivate it that quickly, considering it probably weighs 4500-5,000 lbs loaded with all that gear.
I will admit, I loved the original 5th gen’s looks since the concept. Hell, I even bought a 2SS @ 40k. Ultimately it was the “coolness” of the 5G that won over the mainstream and helped it beat the mustang in sales. The 2016 doesn’t quite grab at your heartstrings though. On top of that, its much more expensive,…
To answer my own question, I’m guessing its because its easier to mount the V6 transversely as parts are already available. Shame though.
Wonder why they put a supercharged Toyota V6 in it vs a GM V8. Im sure packaging wise, an LSx could actually be lighter/smaller. And probably sound better....
Terrible branding by Hyundai. The letter N evokes no sporting intentions or emotions at all. It does evoke racial connotations though...
Wouldn’t there be more stress on the shaft connecting the hot and cold sides as its much longer now?
Supra. Need I say more?
This just made me rethink putting a turbo on my SS, and I live in New York.
And will also have a smaller aftermarket, and be more expensive to maintain and modify. It would also be almost 10k more and I'm sure you could option it out further, a base 1LE/1SS you can probably get in the 30's. The 235i is also still pretty heavy for its size (3500lbs) .
