The last time prices were like this, it ended up with Americabs using less fuel, causing the price of oil to drop quite a bit. A little surprised they either don’t remember that or think it won’t happen again despite significantly more & better options in the fuel efficiency department and now EVs being a

I grumbled when it hit $5+/gallon 14 years ago, but I was driving an Explorer that averaged 16 mpg & had a 112 mile commute. Since then, I’m on my 2nd Mazda 3, only a 24 mile commute & only fueling up every other week. (Of course, I just moved to Raleigh where gas is somewhere along the lines of $3.30/gallon now)

None of that is why oil producing nations are holding back. They got bit in 2020 & are taking advantage now to make that money & then some back.

Hopefully this is one of those cases where the DA is being very careful to not overcharge at the beginning & tack on charges at a later date.

My rates started dropping after they had to cut me a check for my car after my friend wrecked it & dropped way lower when I moved to NC from Cali late last year.

2008-9 gas prices is what got me looking at a small sedan. I was driving an Explorer 112 miles a day for work & I told myself when it was time to bury her, I’d get a small, fuel efficient car. Did that a few years later, have zero desire to go back to SUV.

Uhhh I was paying over $5/gallon in 2008 & I had just started training that required me to drive 112 miles roundtrip in my 2001 Explorer. 22 gallon tank at $5+/gallon almost killed me financially. I was basically working to afford to go to work.

I don't remember the widespread blame of Dubya for it. I certainly didn't & I thought the guy was a clown. It's easier for Crayon munchers to blame politicians these days because they saw a meme telling them to think that way.

Its only going to figure out other drivers when 100% of all cars are self-driving, using the same software, and communicate with one another.

Maybe it has a "avoid NOT hitting cyclists" mode they're beta testing.

Unfortunately, blind allegiance is a common theme in today’s society. Too many of us feel the need to defend something we like, right or wrong, to the death. And the opposite is true: too many of us feel the need to hate something no matter the circumstances.

Google ratings, Yelp reviews, etc aren’t entirely reliable and have to be taken with a grain of salt (I say this as someone who regularly posts business reviews on Google). Your average consumer doesn’t take the time to say when things went well in my experience.

Having been stuck with a Nissan Versa for close to a month while waiting for a check from Geico after my car was totalled, yes, I like the option to buy a car & take it home the same day.

I read “ramming speed” in Worf’s voice.

I don’t. I grew up in a small town where cops had nothing better to do than pull you over for doing 1 MPH over the speed limit (not legal, but hey). I learned at a young age to not give cops an easy ticket.

The person behind you rear-ending you at slow speeds because they expect you to break the law isn't a normal thing. I drive in Cali for 19 years & that never happened to me.

I was thinking my grandma could control a gun better than this guy.

If they're collecting tens of millions in profit, then clearly the toll rates are far too high.

I moved from SoCal to NC last October & drove my car. I had used my windshield wipers weeks before with no problem, but after my 1st day driving, I was in some small random town in Utah (pretty much middle of nowhere) & my wipers tore when I used them. Luckily there was a AutoZone in town, but I can’t imagine how
