Anyone with critical thinking skills knows it doesn’t say that a Model 3 is fully autonomous. It says a Model 3 can be fully autonomous in the future because it has the framework (hardware) for it.

They named it that because it functions exactly like the autopilot in a plane: maintains course and speed (no need to maintain altitude) with minimal input from the pilot.

I’m sure the impound fees would be ridiculous, too. I’m really curious to know his driving/criminal record. Usually guys like this have a history of at least driving shitty.

The crew is generally there for the day-to-day maintenance, redundancy in ship operations, to be there as backup in case another crewman needs it, emergency repairs, etc. Basically, things you don’t need to do when the ship is about to be destroyed within minutes.
