I buy this. I’m pretty sure part of the reason Trump went with low energy for Bush was so he could call him a “pussy” on national television over and over. Given that he is both a sexist and a racist, I can see him wanting to call Rubio a “wetback” to his face as well.

Yea, it’s irritating because he is good at it. “Low energy” was probably the best thing someone like him could have used against Jeb. It took all of the attributes that were supposed to carry him to the nomination and recast them as faults.
