I never watched Sense 8 nor am I planning to, but this is great news!
Hope the fans are happy!

It was highly enjoyable… like with Godzilla, I found that there was some great direction and some superb shots, and the monster action was awesome, but the human characters were mostly bland and cliched.

In that regards I found GotG2 much better than the 1st, the stakes are very personal at the end, and Peter battling his Dad certainly had me invested

Same here, great action cinematography, cool Darth Vader scene, but otherwise it was just a collection of set-pieces with cardboard characters that tell a story that we didn't need

And get ready for War for the Planet of the Apes, it will be awesome!
It's my most anticipated summer blockbuster, I have real faith in the creators behind it and in this franchise in general.
This will likely end up being one of the best trilogies of this century

I mean, come on, if you slept through most of the middle it clearly isn't that good!!!
Never said it was bad either, it was ok/fine, but overall pointless

It's not like there has been a large number of critically acclaimed horror movies these past years… Oh right, actually there was

Also it's not that good

Agreed. And regarding Get Out, it was a really well-made movie but beyond the premise the story was very conventional

Huh, I had no idea about her non-acting background, but I really enjoyed her in the movie, she was the right mix of weird and bad-ass

Get Out was a really slick film, well acted and well shot, but the ending and overall resolution was quite conventional and predictable, maybe that was a deal-breaker for some

You forgot The Mummy! Now that was an original film made purely for the artistic value!

These Best Of lists are too long, I know it's hard to just pick a few but come on!
Cool picks anyway, from the ones I saw in this list I'd say Logan takes the cake.

Right? Especially coming from the AVClub, I'd have assumed that even if they thought it was mediocre it would have made the list just for being the first successful female superhero

I'll have to check these out, I love Kate Bishop ever since she first appeared in the hilarious (and highly recommended) Hawkeye vs Deadpool and stole the show. Plus Fraction's run of course…

I'm still pretty curious and exited for this series, even though besides Symphony of the Night on PSP I never played much Castlevania.

I can understand that, but the kiss scene didn't bother me, there was all this underlying twisted family dynamic tension that I'd say would certainly cloud judgment, plus it was a brutal and visceral scene

You're right, but then again that's why it's an adaptation.
Having not read the comics when I first watched them they were great, and re-watching them after reading the great comics I still loved them even if I recognized that many aspects were different

I didn't really notice, or at least it didn't bother me much. In these type of movies you're bound to have a few of those, like, as usual, some of the military actions suffered from that

Great anecdote!
I'm fine with a reboot too, though I really wish we would have gotten the conclusion to Del Toro's trilogy beforehand. At least Hellboy 2 had a nice ending that's also quite well suited as a franchise goodbye
