I mean, Jesse couldn't have done much, but acknowledge it at least…
Besides the fact that it makes him look like a total dick for not giving a shit about having killed a guy, he should also address it because it gives him new information on the workings of his power

Again, like I said below, I wasn't defending the movie, I didn't really like IM3, but that it got so much hate because of the Mandarin twist is ridiculous

"With rapidly diminishing returns"?
How come Venture Bros has been getting such a bad rep from everybody?
Are people that impatient and entitled that they bash a show just because they don't get it at the frequency they'd want?
The show is just as awesome as ever, at most one could argue that the latest season was a

I just remembered that Jesse made one town dude kill himself and then did absolutely nothing about it once he realized it, or he didn't even realize it despite overwhelming logic.
Did I miss something? Did that bother anyone else?

Exactly, Z-listers like Stilt Man and Paste Pot Pete are way more recurring in my reads, it's not like Mandarin is THE iconic villain

Did that stereotypical war-lord/terrorist really look like an interesting version of The Mandarin? The twist nicely subverted that cliche imo, too bad that the actual villain afterwards sucked, like you said

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Superhero movies may be a big part of the super-big blockbuster movies right now, but overall they are absolutely no that prevalent

Like I said below, the exact same movie made by Wright would have been praised for introducing "wright-esque" elements to the Marvel formula

Bettany's Vision is just perfect, he stole the movie imo. That ending with him having a sincere conversation with the last Ultron before destroying it was the kind of original, emotional and unexpected end for a villain that you'd expect from Whedon.
I'll admit that it's a little more scattershot than the first

I feel like if they never said that Wright was fired, the exact movie would have been celebrated for introducing some "wright-esque" elements to the Marvel formula

Is a flawed movie, but by no means bad

Sure, but then again Kingsley could eat a fruit salad and it would be interesting.
Personally I liked his portrayal of an evil warlord/terrorist, but found it pretty dumb/cliched story-wise, so I was really pleasantly surprised when it turned out he was an actor, Kingsley made me laugh my ass of there. Too bad the

Agreed about you points on IM3, I'd add that the endless auto-piloting and self-destroying suits was also real dumb. I strongly disagree about your view on AoU though, once I got over the false expectations set by the title/trailer/marketing and re-watched it, it was a great ride on par with Avengers 1 for me.

I can completely understand and accept people not liking the twist, and I'll admit that having never read any story with the Mandarin I am somewhat biased… but the fact that I've read countless comics and never even saw a Mandarin cameo also goes to show that it's not like he's an untouchable cultural milestone or

Oh, don't misunderstand me, I didn't like Iron Man 3 either, but The Mandarin twist was like the best part of it to me. Either way, outrage over "screwing over" or "ruining" the Mandarin is ridiculous

Ugh, that outrage still pisses me of, the Mandarin twist was a genuine and original trope subversion, it's like the best part of the movie!
Who freaking cares if for once as a fan you didn't get pandered to?
You can always have endless company-mandated C3PO cameos and shit like that in basically every other franchise

It pains me to say it but I might just do that once Kinja comes around… The thing is I just don't know of any other similar website that would be better, it's just that the once excellent AVClub stooped to the level of all the other shit. Den of Geek is alright I guess, but it's more simplistic/basic

The backstory behind the Dark Phoenix ending is quite fascinating, originally Claremont just wanted to have the Shi'Ar remove the Phoenix from Jean and have her go back with the X-Men without any consequence whatsoever:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wi…

I mean, it's not like I'm against seeing Bleeeewbs, but like you said it's in no way necessary and doesn't even make that much sense.
I feel that they used her perfectly in the original trilogy though, she wasn't a central character but a competent and bad-ass antagonist with just enough depth to her.

I'm so fucking sick of hearing this non-argument. If a website progressively churns out more shitty articles why shouldn't I express my mind?
I don't know, do you say the same about the Cars movies for example? Is nobody allowed to criticize those movies and demand better from Pixar just because we all know what they
