Yeah, I'm sorry, maybe as a non-american I am more used to not being catered too since basically most of the pop culture I grew up with was american, so I got constant references to american ideals or places or people that for a long time I just had no idea what they even were, but that didn't prevent me from getting

He never said he was called Thor though, it was always clear that he had the powers of Thor (and pretty much his same look too), but he still was Beta Ray Bill, a character of his own, at least in the comics I read

What? This all just comes so far out of left field that I can't help but laugh out loud, what the fuck are you talking about, haha

You do know that gay people can enjoy reading straight characters, or that white peole can enjoy reading black characters etc… I'm so sick of this american concept of constantly categorizing people according to their ethnicity, gender, nationality etc…

On a side note, I'm sick of the very american idea that people only want content that reflects their own selves. It's all part of the very american concept of constantly categorizing people according to their nationality, ethnicity or gender. Like the cinema statistics that tell you how many latinos watched a given

The problem with their diversity push is that it is obviously pandering, if they really wanted it they wouldn't take the no-risk approach of shoe-horning diversity into pre-existing characters because that's what sells… Only they are now realizing that there is some risk in doing that, because Marvel comicbook fans

It doesn't surprise me that Jane Thor is a good story since Aaron does a good job on Thor, but I just can't get over the gimmick of passing on the Thor mantle. For fuck's sake, it's the guys name, it's ridiculous!

Screw floppies! Seriously, why would readers want 20 to 30 pages of low quality paper full of ads for 4$? I guess you don't have to wait so long to get your stories, but still…

For the love of God AVClub, could you stop bashing Spencer's Captain America run?

Holy shit, I watched every single episode of Bob's Burgers and I know a lot of H Jon Benjamins work, from Archer to Venture Bros, and I never realized he voiced Jimmy Junior!! His voice always sounded familiar but I never realized it, damn, I feel stupid now… Jimmy Junior will never be the same for me

Ugh, is that you Brannigan?

Hey AVClub, could you please also make a discussion hub for Supernatural?
Thank you and good night

What, AVClub is doing discussion posts for Grey's Anatomy? Also, Grey's Anatomy still exists?
Not hating anyways, I'm sure there is some enjoyment to be found in the series, but I'm genuinely surprised.

The movie could be perfectly fine on it's own without a sequel, since it was basically just a day in the life of Dredd in Mega-City-One.

Yeah, I know that Manowar isn't involved in the Harbinger Wars, but since I was keeping that story-arc until I get my hands on all Harbinger issues needed I was just afraid of X-O somewhat spoiling the story by making an offhand comment to what happened, like comics often do

Regarding Unity and the Harbinger Wars, can I read the whole run of X-O Manowar and then read these stories or should I alternate to get the full picture/not be spoiled?

Thanks for the info, but I still don't think that I will pick up anything X related.. Hell, I still have many classic Clairemont stories to read through before even considering getting some more modern X-books

Glad to see that the relaunch of X-O Manowar is still great, I'm currently on TPB 3 of the previous run, which has like 10 tpb in total I think so I still have a long way to go, haha.
Also happy that Cap keeps getting praised everywhere, the premise sounded quite intriguing to me so I'm waiting until Secret Empire

I saw that many people were upset because of the supposed supernatural element it introduces into the Punisher story, but it's ambiguous enough… For me it's just Frank starting to really go insane and wanting to let loose his own dark side

They have a special "comics" section, you can find it on the browse part on the top left corner. Granted, it's obviously mostly movie news, but that's were you'll find their articles about actual comics. Also, since it only features comic articles they will stay there way longer than on the homepage, I recommend just
