Of course, the execution was pretty bad too, and the massive carnage and destruction that preceded the necksnapping didn't help either

sure, but the other movies also have those same flashes, I didn't feel like there were more of those in MoS
or like Firefly's crew for that matter.. but hey, that's his style, whatcha gonna do
I actually agree, Synder strength is in aesthetics and visuals that set a tone, and he does have some interesting ideas.. But somebody has to make better scripts for him or something.
That's probably why Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead and 300 were his best movies, because there was already a good story to work with.
Looks like it.. but whatever, let's let the haters hate. I have to vent about SW7 from time to time too because it pissed me of, even if almost everybody liked it..
I love the MCU, it's what got me into the comics, but I also can understand how one might be completely indifferent to them, they all follow pretty much…
I don't understand how Man of Steel is supposed to be the "good one" of the DCEU, it's just as bad to me. I actually enjoyed Suicide Squad the most… but that's probably only because I waited to see the extended cut and had no hopes whatsoever on the movie, and then I found myself having a pretty good time (even though…
True, Marvel does overindulge in having all their characters quip, but come on, all the heroes have pretty clear motivations and you understand where they are coming from in each movie (even if those motivations aren't really profound or anything)
True, he never smiled either which sucked… Altough again, I would even be on board with a depressed Superman if I could understand why he is that way, but his thought process is a complete mistery to me
exactly, I can't for the life of me figure out the thought process of the Superman of the DCEU universe
I like MANIMAL, he is an interesting kind of commenter who I can't quite figure out if he is trolling or not, because often he has some interesting (albeit snarky) comments, and other times he seems to cross the line to full-blown troll…
but he is never boring
Overall I agree, I don't really care that Superman snapped a dude's neck or that Batman kills some people or that everything is dark and gritty looking if it's well done, but the characters in these movies are lacking any kind of appeal. Superman in particular is so bland and boring, I like Henry Cavill but he only…
Man, that sucks, I hate it when I can't finnish my series or movies.. It's really discouraging that so much content disappears on Netflix, Amazon and the likes every month..
Hey, if your streaming service fails you there's always torrents to catch up, available in HD 24h a day, all year long
Even the AvClub thinks that show is great, now I am really pumped! I'll probably wait for the whole season to come out and then bingewatch it.
It's about time for a different take on the supehero genre on TV, though arguably Jessica Jones was that already
What the hell are you talking about, did you even check out the article? It's clearly not pro-Trump…
I don't support that dick at all, I'm not even American, I just mocked the AVClub a little because I am against their constant Trump coverage that's really not relevant on a pop culture level or even a political level,…
In honor of Trump year here at the AVClub, here is another article about Trump, but this one is actually pretty interesting even if it's nothing new, it's about how the US came to a place where nobody cares about the truth anymore:
Agreed about the last part. And I never said there were plotholes, there might be but I can't think of any now, it's just that the whole plot for the upside down and the creature isn't that tight and well explained, and I understand that, it's more there for the sake of progressing the story and setting the tone, but…
Maybe, that's what I told myself too, but it was never really stated or even implied in the show as far as I know.. There are other issues too though, like why would it need to get food on Earth if it lives in a empty dimension?
Fun and entertaining little show with great character work that I enjoyed despite not growing up in the 80s… I never even saw ET!
However I am not really sure if a 2nd season is a good idea, the story is pretty self-contained, and the other dimension /creature stuff isn't that original or even logical as to warrant…
I mean, the rules for the monster and the other dimension kind of fall apart if you look at them more closely… like, if it can hop between both dimensions at will why is it that El brought it to Earth? What's the deal with it being in the walls? Were did all the portals come from, did the monster create them?
But it…
Also, that helicopter vanishing into thin air after Oliver shot it with his bazooka-arrow (?) was hilarious
