I didn’t get the sense that McCullough underplayed the terribleness of the Alien/Sedition Act, but he certainly is a fan of Adams for sure, but without compromising objectively. Plowed through the 2001 John Adams biography by David McCullough. It’s very good and quite prescient given the waning days of the 2020 Presidential election and the country’s political divisiveness we currently have.
